When I woke up Nick wasn't in bed he was gone. I looked at my phone and saw he sent me a text message.
I had a meeting this morning. I'll see you tonight.
-Nick
My bedroom door burst open and Andrea comes in pointing a finger at me. Shit she knows.
"You!" She yelled coming closer
"I can explain!"
"Then go start by explaining why you and Nicholas Laudel were having sex on the couch last night!"
"Oh my god you saw that?!?!"
"Damn right I saw that and heard it. So what's going on are you guys like dating now?"
"No. I mean yes. I mean I don't know."
"Well it looks to me that you guys are pretty close."
"What's going on?"
I can't lie to her. Not after all she's done for me.
"I am doing this for you." I began to cry, " Nick threatened that if I don't sleep with him he's going to sell the hotel your gonna lose your job Everyone will lose their job and he also indirectly threatened to fire Beau so you and him won't have your dream wedding." I didn't breathe once.
"Okay. Okay. Calm down its alright."
She began to brush my hair off my face.
"Scar you don't need to do anything. Especially not that."
"But I owe you my life if it wasn't for you I would have gone back to Matt by now. I would have been married and living that miserable life I ran away from."
"Okay, stop look at me. Look at me. I don't regret helping you out because you reminded me so much of me. Scared, alone and lost. You don't owe me a single thing. Never did and never will. I love you like a sister. And no sister of mine is going to sleep with some rich guy to protect my job."
"What about everyone else?"
"We'll figure it out but everyone at the restaurant and hotel loves you and they wouldn't want you doing them any favors. And as for the wedding..." She sighs," We'll figure it out. I've always been really lucky."
On my way to work that afternoon I stopped by Nick's work to tell him that I won't be seeing him anymore. I can do this it's not right.
"Hi, how can I help you?" Said Nick's receptionist.
"Hi I'm looking for Nick Laudel."
"Oh. Well he doesn't take last minute appointments."
Perfect I won't have to see him. "Okay can I just leave a message?" She nodded." The deal is off. Don't come looking for me. He'll know what that means."
"Alright I'll make sure he gets the message."
I mouthed thank you and walked out of the building and out of Nick Laudel's life.
