Nick's POV
I shouldn't have hung up on her like that. It's just that I'm so stressed out with work now but that's no excuse I have to call her back.
"Nick conference call now." Said Henry.
"Let me just-"
"Now." I get up to make sure I get back as soon as I can.
After six hours of work it's almost midnight and I'm making my way home but I make sure to stop for flowers. I also finally have the engagement ring. These will surely get me out of the doghouse. They might not get me laid but it'll get me out of the dog house. When I get home the apartment's dark and cold. So I turn on the heater and lights.
"Scarlett! Babe are you home?" I called out for her. I hear nothing. I quietly make my way to the bedroom just in case she's sleeping but it's empty. I look around. All her things are here. I search the entire apartment and call her three times. I start to get frustrated so I call Andrea. She's probably at Andrea's.
"Nick?"
"Andrea, I can't find Scarlett anywhere is she at your apartment."
"Listen Nick Andrea's gone."
"Gone? Gone! What the fuck do you mean that she's gone?!?!"
"She left a note for you with me. You can come by tomorrow to pick it up."
"Tomorrow?!? No I'm coming over right now!" I hang up before she can say anything and make my way out to the car. I tell the driver that If he gets me to Andrea's apartment in half the usual time he'll be getting a raise. He luckily does. Andrea is already waiting by the front door for me In her slippers with Beau. She has a look of sadness on her face. She hands me a note before she says anything.
"Is she up there?"
She nod no and I believe her.
"Just read the note it's all she left."
Nick,
It's not you, it's not me, it's the both of us. I love you more than I've ever loved anyone or anything but that won't be enough for us. I'm not the person you want me to be and I can't pretend to be her. I thought that maybe I wouldn't have to change that much to be part of your world but when I saw my reflection I didn't like who was looking back. I can't do this. I can't do us for the rest of my life. I'm saying goodbye now so that we don't realize we've wasted most of our lives in a marriage that made us miserable. You deserve a woman who is willing to be the wife you want her to be and that you love. And I deserve a man who will love and accept me for me.
Please don't come looking for me. I know right now you want to, but give it some time once the pain eases away, you'll forget me.
You'll always be my first love so I will never forget you.

I'm crying now but I ask Andrea, "Where is she. "
"Nick just Le-"
"I said where is she."
"Believe me when I say I don't know." I walk away to the car and tell the driver to take me home.
Once I get home I drink three bottle s of liquor reading the note again and again. Trying to find some sort of clue. I call her over 50 times that night. Eventually when I pass out I dream of her.
She's dresses in a white gown walking down the alter, but then she turn around and starts to run away from me.
I suddenly wake up and call her again only to hear that the phone's been disconnected.
