Okaay so. Here's the first chapter of The Coffee Connection for y'all. Just a warning before the story kicks off- updates out here aren't gonna be as regular as they were in TPOMLH & I've my reasons for that. Firsy, even though i've a few pre-written scenes, i dont exactly have fully pre-written, well planned chapters; I have a rough idea of the whole plot and am gonna work on it. And no, i'm not gonna give up on this book. Secondly, college is going to start so I am gonna get busy with coursework, settling in and all of that.

Anyway, I won't keep you any longer. Song of the chapter is "What About Love" by Austin Mahone. DAMN THAT SONGGGGG :O like, it's perf.

[[ONE YEAR LATER - 2017]]

Tossing and turning as he lay on his bed, Zac tried his best to fall asleep, but couldn't do so, for some reason. He groaned as he rolled out of his king sized bed and steadied himself once he felt his feet touch the ground.

"Coffee, yes, that's what I need right now," he muttered to himself as he shuffled around for his sweats and a hoodie. As he pulled sweats over his boxers, he wondered whether anybody would oblige to accompany him to his favorite cafe which was a half an hour drive away from his Santa Monica house.

As it happened, he ditched the idea and instead decided to go to Starbucks, which was right round the corner for him.

He grabbed a few dollar bills which were carelessly lying around, his ipod, his phone, the house keys and after slipping on sneakers, Zac padded out of his bedroom into the spacious lounge. He picked his bulky headphones lying on the kitchen island, snapped them on and connected them to his ipod. As a final action, Zac pulled the hood of the black sweatshirt over his head after having put on a cap underneath- he couldn't afford to have anybody recognising him right then.

"Going somewhere, Mr. Bradford?" Zac's watchman, Max, asked him.

Zac didn't reply as he couldn't hear anything over the blaring music. Instead, he just smiled and waved brightly at the man before pulling open the door and slipping out of his garden.

But what about love?
What about our promises?
What about love?
You take it all and leave me nothing
What about love?
What about us 'til the end?
What about love?
You cut my wings, now I am falling
What about love? (what about-what about love? what about)
What about love? (What about-what about love? what about)

As the final notes of What About Love by Austin Mahone ended, Zac felt incredibly pumped. He was addicted to the song and the same had been on repeat since a week. There was a new spring to his step, which was pretty unusual happening with someone when it was eleven in the night. However, that changed when the next song on his ipod started playing.

What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time

He froze for a few moments before he finally made to change the song. The bounce in his walk had vanished as he now trudged towards Starbucks. His spirit had dampened within the few moments that the song- which held special memories for him- played. His mind went back to his high school romance before it immediately fast forwarded itself to the time after things had ended between him and the girl he claimed to have loved back then.

"How could you?" Sean yelled.

"You knew about it!" Zac shouted back at Sean. "If you've got such a problem with whatever happened, why didn't you stop me when I first told you about it?"

"Would you have listened to me? No!" Sean was clearly losing control over his temper and his expression clearly showed that he was ready to bash Zac's head in. He took a threatening step closer to Zac.
