"Wh-what?" Clary stuttered, "I don't understand, what does that mean?" She asked Dr. Rorish.
"The cells in your lungs are growing at an rapidly, fast rate. However, since you have small cell lung cancer and your only stage two, it is treatable," Dr. Rorish paused as silence came over the room. "It's getting late, why don't you both come back tomorrow and we'll talk more then."
Clary and Jace nodded and walked outside, to their car and drove home. As soon as they walked through the door, Clary started crying. Jace pulled her into a hug. "Shhh. Its okay. We'll get through this. I promise. We always do," Jace whispered. Clary nodded against his chest. "I'm going to go make dinner, okay?" Jace said. Clary simply nodded again in response.
As they pulled away, Clary walked into the living room and called her parabatai.
"Hello?" Simon said into his phone.
"Hey Si." Said a familiar voice.
"Hey, what's up Fray." Simon said, a smile appearing on his face.
"Well, I just got back from the doctors," Simon could hear the sadness in her voice.
"Clary. What's wrong?" Simon asked urgently.
"Could you come over?" Clary asked. And with that Simon hung up the phone and hopped in his car.
As soon as Simon walked through the door, he gave Clary a giant hug. "What's wrong?" Simon asked Clary as they sat down on the couch.
"I came back from the doctors thirty minutes ago and I have been diagnosed with lung cancer."
