Simon felt an urging sense of panic as realization of what Clary had just told him set in.
"Can't you just put an iratze on?" Simon said desperately.
"It's not strong enough, Si. It won't work." Clary said with pity.
"What about Magnus? Can't he use magic to heal you?"
"There are some things that even magic can't fix," Clary told him remembering a Magnus told her, about one of her ancestors Henry Branwell, who was paralyzed from the waist down.
Simon pulled Clary into another hug. "I'm so sorry Clary," Simon whispered to her. "Whatever you need I promise I'll be there for you."
Clary squeezed Simon tightly and cried softly into his shoulder.
