Jace sat in the waiting room impatiently. He attempted to distract himself by reading one of the magazines on the table, but all he could think about was Clary. Thankfully, Simon walked in before he drowned in his thoughts.

"Any news?" Simon asked as he sat down.

Yes, there's news, that's exactly why I'm sitting in the waiting room, Jace thought sarcastically. "No," he said out loud. "No news."

"How long has she been in surgery?" Simon asked after several minutes of silence.

"Around two and a half hours, she has about an hour to go," Jace answered. "How are things with you and Izzy?" Jace asked wanting to talk about something else, even if it was about Simon's love life.

"Good. She's keeping busy with the wedding plans," Simon answered.

"That's good," Jace replied.

They say in silence for an hour when Jace saw Mae approach them. "How is she?" Jace asked standing up.

"The surgery went as planned, and we were able to get all of the tumor out. You can go see her now," Mae said as Jace headed to the elevator with the first good news he had received all month.

Clary had been in the hospital for a week so far, receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments as well as working on how to breathe and cough so that her lungs would expand a certain way with her therapist Laurlie. The chemo was taking its toll on her, she would brush her hair in the mornings and chunks of it would fall out and the radiation made her throw up constantly. The fact that she was missing a section of her lung wasn't helping her either, and she constantly felt like she was out of breath.

There was a knock on the door. Clary looked up to see Isabelle carrying a binder full of papers, catalogs and a case of pencils. "Hey," she said as she sat on Clary's bed. Clary opened the binder to see it was full of wedding plans. "I figured it would be the perfect time for planning," Iz said in a cheerful voice as she opened one of the catalogs.

Clary sighed in relief. It was nice to hear someone talk to about something that wasn't about how she had cancer, or how she feeling, or how she had to wear an oxygen tube for the time being. "Of course you did," Clary said laughing slightly.

"So, I already picked out the China sets, but I still need to pick out the placemats and flowers," Izzy said pulling out a picture of the China set.

"I would say wicker placemats would be the way to go, they're a classic. And since your going with classic placemats, for flowers you should do roses or peonies." Clary said taking out the photos of the flowers she thought Izzy should use.

"Your totally right, I think the peonies would go perfect with the China set." Isabelle responded studying the pictures.

"Did you set out a date for dresses yet?" Clary asked curiously.

"No, I didn't know when you'd be available, plus I'm still not sure if I want to get a gold dress or try something untraditional." Izzy said.

"Okay," Clary said understandingly . Clary was so torn when picking out her dress, not knowing if she should wear white or gold. She heading up wearing white with gold lace on the skirt. "Did you decide on who your bridesmaids are yet?"

"Well, obviously your my maid of honor, but I'm not sure-" Izzy was cut off by Clary.

"Wait, I'm your maid of honor?" Clary asked excitedly.

"Of course you are who else would be?" Izzy responded in a "duh" manner. "Anyway," she continued, "I'll probably ask Maia to be a bridesmaid but I don't know if I want to ask Rebecca. I mean she is Simon's sister and she was really accepting when she found out about this whole shadowhunter stuff."

"You might as well, your going to see her a lot now." Clary said.

"Yeah I think I'm going to ask her," Izzy said when her phone went off. "Oh, it's Simon he needs help with the caterer. I have to, Clary. I'm really sorry."

"Don't worry it's fine," Clary said.

"Thanks for all your help," Izzy said as she walked out of the room. As soon as the door shut, Clary found herself happy for the first time all week.
