Delighla lay in the bed next to Vesper in the infirmary waiting for her pupil to awaken. Not that Delighla had actually broken a sweat in the fight, but she did underestimate her opponent. Delighla thought that after two straight days of grueling training, that Vesper wouldn't have the strength to do what she did. Vesper was very strong and exceptionally fast. Delighla wanted to smile out of pride for her apprentice but just the thought of doing so, caused a small ache in her mouth. She wouldn't be able to laugh but Vesper would get a kick out of seeing half of her face covered in bandages.

Arguing voices tore through confortable silence and immediately Delighla grew tense, her hand wrapped around one of her many stashed mini daggers.

"No! We have to see her!" A rather desperate male voice demanded.

"You are not allowed to go in. This is an infirmary not a circus!" The head nurse spat.

"Mam, allow me to apologize for this ill mannered beast. We would like to quietly check upon our friend who we just recently discovered resides in here." A different and more collected sounding male voice elegantly stated.

Hm. A very elegant voice accompanying a barbaric one- must be Haden and Trenton. Delighla thought.

"Please oh please oh please oh-" A girl's voice whined repeatedly.

Sala. Delighla couldn't help but let out a long sigh out, no matter how much it hurt.

"Please Sala, stop whining!" yet another voice begged, adding to the mix.

Sala continued as if she never heard him and after a moment of being ignored, the boy seemed to loose his patience.

"Silence yourself, imbecile!"

Everyone grew quiet with his outburst. The nurse sarcastically grunted. As if these children being quiet was possible.

Good ol' Charlie, the most normal of them all. Fantastic. The whole gang is here.

Delighla's pride was not going to allow Vesper's friends to see her like this. She quickly looked around and decided that under the bed was the best place.

The four teens eventually got inside of the room and made their way over to Vesper.

"She's got a big black eye!" Sala whispered.

"Just like when we first met her!" Trenton followed up.

Eight-year-old Vespera, soon to be called Vesper when she turned ten, stared longingly outside the castle window, at a group of children playing just outside the castle wall. Vespera had above excellent eyesight, that proved her... how she wanted to play with them so bad. Somewhere deep down, she knew that if she didn't go down there and play, that she would miss out on something that she would regret for the rest of her life.
There was one problem. As the princess, she wasn't exactly allowed to go outside by herself and surely the guards would scare the boys and girls away if they accompanied her. She recalled the voice of her Guard saying to Never, Ever, go outside without either him or mother, but Vesper decided to forget it for just this once. She had read stories of the different kinds of people in her kingdom, and she wanted to meet them. She wanted to play with them and make friends. Friends. The word love to created a warm, bubbly feeling inside of Vespera.
I must get down there! I'm going to make friends!
The thing was, that Vespera did not want to 'play' with the royal kids, who really only wanted to brag about their abilities and torment her. She was tired of being forced to learn how to fight with swords, and stuff about the Kingdom of Hiralla. It was time for her to be able to do her own thing. The only thought on Vesper's mind was simple. She just wanted to play! An idea suddenly popped into her curious mind to actually figure out a way to go outside, then she would have, as much fun as she wanted and by the time she came back, there wouldn't be a thing they could do about it.
Vespera figured that using the main gate was a great way to get into a ton of trouble and tried to remember all the possible ways that one could get out. Then it hit her.
