Cameron's POV

I had a great couple days with Wesley, but all great things come to and end, and now we have to go back to reality and head to school. No one at school really knows what's happened with us yet, but as far as I can tell, no one is surprised we've discovered we like each other.

"Cam, babe, I'm not telling you again! Get up. We need to get going soon," Wesley nagged, pulling my covers away from me. My heart still skipped a beat when he called me that, but I was too tired to react right now. I groaned and threw my pillow at him.

"I'm not feeling school today. We should skip," I begged.

"No! I told your dad I'd take care of you, and I'm sure if he found out I let you skip school, my ass would be in trouble," he whispered, getting close to my ear. He kissed my cheek and slapped the side of my butt, making me jump.

"Now let's gooooo," he said, throwing some clothes at me and walking out. I got up, got ready, and headed downstairs.

"Mhmm, taking over my dad's job? Your breakfast is better anyways," I chuckled as I saw a plate sitting on the counter when I walked down the stairs.

"You better scarf that breakfast down fast, or we'll be late," he told me with his mouth full as he was quickly eating already. We hurriedly finished and went to school.

"Oh great, look who's here to ruin my Monday," Wesley annoyingly said as he looked ahead at his locker. Natalie's back at it. I grabbed his hand in mine and walked over there with him.

"I'm going to get my stuff, and I'll be back. Don't miss me," I winked, giving him a peck on the cheek right in front of Natalie. She scoffed and walked away.

"You're welcome," I chuckled. He winked at me before I turned to go to my locker. I got my stuff and was going back to Wesley's locker but saw Natalie there again. She was laughing and twirling her hair. I walked past them and straight to Kellerman's class. Wesley followed me and took his seat next to me.

"Cameron, I promise-"

"Promise what? I'm not jealous of Natalie and never will be. I just didn't want to stand there and watch her horrible attempt to flirt with you," I lightly laughed.

"Honey, I hate to tell you, you should be jealous of me because you're already having my sloppy seconds," she smiled evilly. If she thinks she could ever get in my head, she's on a different planet. Wesley will always like me more than her, and I'm not scared a bit that that would ever change.

"In your dreams. Wesley would never sleep with a bitch like you," I rolled my eyes. Wesley chuckled and nudged me. I gave him a high five, making her sit down. Classes went really fast today. I was getting in my car to go home when I heard someone yell my name. I turned around and saw that it was Haley.

"Sorry, Wesley isn't here to steal from me. Come over later and maybe you'll get your chance," I remarked, continuing to get in my car. She stopped my door and look at me apologetically.

"Cam, it's not like that! I wanted to apologize. I was way out of hand with Wesley last weekend. I knew you liked him, and maybe that helped you realize it. That doesn't make it right, but I'm really just tired of fighting with you."

"You're right. That doesn't make it right. It doesn't make anything you've done to me these past couple weeks right. I'm sorry, but any friend of mine wouldn't even think of doing half the shit you did," I muttered. I can't believe she'd try to justify her doings by saying it made Wesley and I get together. That was coincidence.

"I know, and I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me. I guess I was just jealous of how guys treated you, and I shouldn't have done any of it. I really miss you and being your best friend."

"I miss you too, Haley. I suppose we can start over. You didn't have to be jealous of me. Nathan was the first guy in ages to show any sign of liking towards me," I reminded her.

"Shut up! Wesley has been treating you like his girlfriend since ninth grade. He's literally been head over heels for you. I'm glad you finally realized that. You deserve it."

"Thanks, Hales," I smiled.

"Now, I need to hear about what's going on between you and Wesley! It's killing me to know," she begged.

"Come on, get in. Dad's gone for two weeks, so you can come over," I informed her. She excitedly got in the car. We went to my house, and she wouldn't stop bugging me about it.

"Hales, it's not that big of a deal. We're just going slow right now. We aren't exactly dating. I guess you could say we're talking? I'm just scared, ya know? He's my best friend, and I'm just so afraid of losing that," I admitted for the first time.

"Don't be scared. I know Wesley is the one for you. He's been crazy about you for years! I wish he would've told you sooner. You guys would be the perfect couple," she gushed. As she said that, the front door opened and closed.

"Who would be a perfect couple?" Wesley asked, taking a double look at Haley being in my house.

"Oh, Cam and Nathan! Don't you think?" Haley joked with Wesley.

"What happened with you and Nathan?" Wesley asked not-so-jokingly.

"Nothing, stupid. I was talking about you and Cameron, gosh," she rolled her eyes sarcastically. Wesley came over and wrapped his arms around my waist and pecked my cheek.

"So, you two made up?" Haley and I smiled at each other and nodded.

"I better get going. You two probably have stuff to do, and it's getting a little late," Haley said, clearing her throat, glancing at Wesley's hand on my lower back.

"Oh- we don't-"

"See you tomorrow," Wesley cut in, nodding to her. She gave us a wink and walked out. I turned around and faced Wesley.

"I didn't know if I'd be able to do this in front of her, but I've been dying to kiss your lips again," Wesley smiled, leaning towards me. I chuckled and connected our lips. We both smiled into the kiss, making us pull away smiling.

"If you want to go home, I'm sure I'll be fine here by myself," I told him.

"It's okay. I want to stay here. But if you don't want me here, and you want privacy, please tell me, and I'll leave."

"The only privacy I want is with you," I winked, giggling a little as I did so. He shook his head and kissed my forehead. My heart melted when I felt his warm lips on my head. At that moment, when I felt how his lips felt on me, I knew I had started to fall even harder for my best friend.
