Cameron's POV
After three weeks of not seeing Wesley, I'm finally going to his show tonight, and I can't wait. I seriously don't think I'll be able to stay away from him tonight. I've never missed a person so much in my life. I wish I wasn't sick last week, so I could have seen him sooner, but I could barley get myself out of bed. We haven't talked much these past two weeks, but I know he's been so busy, and so have I. We've texted about every day, but it's nothing like talking to each other in person.
Laraine and I drove up to LA to be at the show in time. The boys were performing first tonight, so we had to get there early. I didn't tell Wesley I was coming this week, so I can't wait for him to see me. I hope he's as excited to see me as I am him.
"Wesley really misses you, Cam. He's not going to be able to stop smiling when he sees you," Laraine told me when we arrived.
"I can't wait to see him either! We've hardly gone a day without seeing each other before, and now it's been weeks. I can't wait to hug him," I chuckled a bit. We went in and sat in our seats to get ready for the show. It didn't take long to get started as we arrived a little later than we intended. Tonight, the boys were singing 'One Day.' This was one of my favorite songs that they cover, so I'm even more excited. When the judges came out and started getting ready, my heart started pounding. I hadn't been this nervous for someone in forever.
"My heart is beating so fast. I can't wait to watch them," I told Laraine.
"Me too, sweetie. I could have a heart attack right now," she chuckled. When the boys announcement played, and they ran out, I started cheering. My teeth couldn't stop showing from me smiling once I saw him. They sang their hearts out, and I got so lost in Wesley's voice that I didn't even realize how quick it went by. I can't believe that voice is all mine. I can't imagine how many girls are jealous of me right now. That actually kind of terrifies me because that means Wesley has so many more options than just me back in Huntington.
"Are you ready to go meet them backstage?" Laraine asked. I nodded, and we got up from our seats and headed that way. When we passed security, I stood behind Laraine to surprise Wesley more. They were so hype when we saw them coming for the lounge area. I love their energy with their music.
"You boys did amazing, as always," Laraine told them all. They all took turns hugging her.
"I'm so proud of you all," I spoke up from behind her. I revealed myself, and Wesley's mouth dropped. He ran over to me and picked me up. I laughed and squirmed in his arms to get down.
"I missed you so much, babe. Why didn't you tell me you were coming tonight?" He gasped, quickly pulling my face towards his to connect our lips.
"I wanted to surprise you," I mumbled against his lips.
"Oh, get a room," Keaton said disgustingly.
"Don't mind if we do," Wesley chuckled, giving me a final peck before pulling away completely. He grabbed on to my hand and wouldn't let go. We hung out backstage until the show was winding down to the end. The members of Fifth Harmony were with us since they were done as well.
"So you're Wesley's girlfriend?" Camila asked confusingly as Wesley was having his own conversation.
"That's me," I chuckled back confusingly.
"I just remembered last week you had blonder hair. Maybe I'm just tripping," she giggled, studying me.
"Oh, I wasn't here last week," I told her. Her face turned serious. "Why did you say that?"
"I just thought I saw Wesley take a girl into his room. I'm sure I was just seeing things. I don't even know why I brought it up," she quickly said.
"No, I'm glad you did," I said, slightly pissed off. Why would Wesley take another girl back to his room? I nudged Wesley's leg to get his attention.
"Yeah, babe?" He whispered, turning towards me.
"Can we go talk?" I said seriously. His face turned blank.
"About what?"
"I'd rather not say in front of everyone. Unless you want to be embarrassed," I said. He furrowed his eyebrows and stood up. He held his hand out for me to grab. I didn't take it. I stood up on my own and followed him. We walked down a hallway that had rooms. He opened the door to what I assumed was theirs.
"I'm confused. Did I do something?"
"I don't know, Wesley. You tell me. Why did a girl tell me she thought I had blonder hair because the girl you took to your room last week did?"
"Cameron-"
"If you're cheating on me because we haven't seen each other in three weeks . . . I can't do this," I said, tears streaming down my face.
"Oh, Cam, babe, I would never cheat on you. I'm actually offended you would think that. I love you so fucking much. There's no way I would blow this chance with you that I thought I'd never even have. I was hanging out with a girl last week, but we just watched some TV. She was telling me that she didn't have any friends here, so I naturally felt bad for her. We didn't even sit by each other. I was in the chair and she was on the couch. I promise nothing happened, and I hope you can believe that," he pleaded.
"I believe you," I told him, wrapping myself in his arms. He rubbed my back and wiped my tears. "But you really need to communicate with me more, so I don't have a reason to not trust you. It's hard being apart for this long, but what happens in our future when you have tours and stuff? I don't know what goes on other than what everyone else tells me. I didn't want to think you'd cheat on me, but how would it sound to you if Zac told you Nathan rode home from school with me or something?"
"I'm sorry, Cameron. I know being busy isn't an excuse. It just sucks having to communicate with you through my phone. I hate it so much because I can't see and touch you. Also if I ever hear that Nathan took my seat in your car, he'd be dead," he chuckled.
"I know it sucks, but it's better than nothing. I'm sorry for not coming last week, and I'll try to sneak up here more, but it's just as hard for me as it is you," I reminded him.
"I will always love you, Cameron," he whispered, stroking my hair.
"I love you, too, Wesley," I whispered back, looking up at him. I gave him a long, passionate kiss, and I knew everything would be fine.
