Ali Krieger's POV
I tightly embraced my mom as she teared up. "Don't worry mom, I'll be home for Thanksgiving, it's only a few months away." Today was my first day at college. University of Columbia had given me a scholarship, on one condition, I play soccer for their team. It had always been my dream to play soccer at a professional level so I jumped at the chance to hopefully pursue my dream. "Alright honey, I'm so proud of you" my mom says as she pulls away from me to see my face. She smiles and walks over to my father. After about ten minutes, my parents say their final goodbyes and begin their long trip home. I lay on my bed, exhausted from all the events of today.
The sound of an elecrtric guitar wakes me up. I rub my eyes and check my phone, 4:52. I wonder who would play their guitar so loud at such an ungodly hour, especially in a college where tons of other students are trying to get their beauty sleep. I have class at eight, so I still have time to sleep. I set my alarm for six and then hibernate under my blankets again. It took a little bit of time to fall asleep since the guitar was so loud, but I covered my head with a pillow and then fell asleep.
Beep Beep Beep.Ugh, how did the time go by so quickly. I rub my eyes and then grab my phone. I check my instagram and twitter before texting my boyfriend. We've been dating for a while now but something is missing, I don't feel like I could ever fall in love with Saegan. I don't know why.
My parents adore Saegan. His dad is very wealthy and Saegan was the quarterback for our high school. Girls drooled over him. Saegan and I were considered the "perfect couple" at our high school and girls envied me. As long as my parents approved of him, I guess I would continue to date him. It's not that bad anyways.
I pick out what I am going to wear today. Then I head to the bathroom. I take a long shower since I have plenty of time to kill. I get dressed and brush my hair, leaving it down for the day. I apply a little bit of make up and then begin to clean up my dorm room. I listen to the guitar that is still playing. Although they were playing while I had been trying to sleep, I do admit that whoever was playing was very talented. As I finally finish putting all my clothes in the closet, the guitar stops playing. Finally, I think to myself. It was seven o clock already, so I grab my purse and head out the door. A few kids are in the hall, all of them looking tired. I head down a flight of stairs and enter the cafe. I order a small coffee and a banana chocolate chip muffin.
I enter the classroom. I want to become a teacher, I love working with children. I'm one of the first students to arrive, so I pick a seat near the front and enjoy my muffin as I wait for class to begin. More and more students pile in. When there is about thirty kids in the classroom the teacher walks up to the board and introduces himself, Mr. Snyder. He turns to write something, while saying he will take attendance in one minute and some other stuff I wasn't listening to. I was distracted by someone sneaking into the classroom and taking a seat in the back. She is gorgeous. She has blonde hair and stunning eyes. She notices me looking at her and winks. She didn't seem like the person who would want to be a teacher. I dont know why, but I couldn't help but hope I would get to know this girl better.
