It's been almost 2 weeks since Leo's accident. He's doing so much better. His stitches are out and he shows no sign of infection. He better not because I had poured a whole lot of disinfectant crap on that sucker. He knows how I feel about him and he doesn't hate me for it. But he doesn't entirely feel the same way, so we're not together. And Adrian and me? Well, he's been acting really strange since Max got back. And about his feelings? He's just as confused about them as I am when I join a conversation late.
I'm on the roof. I've been coming up here a lot lately. I mean the view sucks, but it's peaceful and this is where I think. I'm lost in thought again when a body sits down next to me.
"What are you thinking about?" The voice asks. It's Zavia's.
"Life. Emotions. Normal teen stuff." I reply casually.
"You're seriously thinking about all of that right now? You do realize you and Leo nearly died a few weeks ago from the apocalypse right? You sure your head is ok?" She asks confused and a little judgemental. But I'm not offended. I completely understand what she's talking about.
"Yupp." I replied. I wasn't up for conversation. I guess she sensed this because next thing I knew she was walking back inside. Guess I should too. It's nearly dark out and I've been up here alll day. Except when I went to go check on Leo.
Max
"I've been trying. Honestly, sir. But he's been stalling the mission. But he has good reasons to! Don't send backup. I'll take care of it. I promise." I whispered hastily into the satelite phone I was given about 6 months ago.
The voice angerly whispered back, "You better, if you wanna live to see the end of the apocalypse, Gomez!" Yes, my last name was Gomez. I was only referred to as that during these conversations which only happened every few weeks to check on progress. "We need her. So you better hope he succeeds. If he doesn't you better finish the job." I hated that voice. I'm normally not afraid of anything but that scared the hell out of me.
Adrian
Max, didn't know but I saw her on the satalite phone. I knew who she was talking about and who she was talking to. I hated myself for getting mixed up in all of this. It's just going to hurt everyone in the end.
