Leo
Ugh, why did we agree on 6 am? That's just too early. Oh well. I have to. I relunctantly roll out of bed and grab my pack Bridget had given me the night before. I didn't want that hug to end. It felt so...right. But I don't know what that's supposed to mean. I walk out like a zombie, no pun intended, to meet the boys.
"Morning." I grumble to them. They nod and look just as tired as I am. I just couldn't get to sleep last night. I kept letting my mind wander off. I should know better than to let it do that. Bad mind. Yes I just scolded my own brain. I'm tired okay!
"You ready?" Adrian asks. Jonny and I nod and we're walking out the door, when somebody loudly whispers "Wait!" We all whip around and see Bridget running towards us. What was she doing? She's supposed to be asleep.
"I just wanted to see you guys. Remember there's always the chance this is the last time I might see any of you again." I smiled at her. She's so sweet. Don't tell her I said that.
"We know." Jonny tells her and he gives her a warm hug. "Be careful.' She tells him. Adrian's right behind him and goes and hugs her tightly.
"I promise I'll come back." He says.
"Good."
"Where's my hug?" I ask jokingly. She smiles and practically jumps into my arms. But I don't mind. I hug her back and kiss the top of her head, like a good guy friend would. Our hug was intimate and lasted awhile. She was the one that broke away first.
"I need you to come back alive. Got it?" She told me sternly.
"I promise."
"Good, now go. You guys should leave before the sun comes up." She looked like she didn't want us to go and her eyes were a little misty. We solemnly turned away and walked out the door.
Bridget
I did not want them to go. At all. Even Jonny. I watched them walk out the door and nearly died when they did. I would've stayed there until they got back but do you know what time it is? It is 6 in the morning I wasn't staying up any more than I had to. I went back up to my room and quickly fell back asleep.
My rest though only lasted about three more hours, until Isabel came and woke me up. And she didn't do it nicely. She used an airhorn.
"WHAT THE HELL?" I yelled sitting up when she did it. She burst out laughing.
"Good moring!" She told me.
"Why would you wake me up using that?" I asked her.
"For your reaction." She laughed again. "It was priceless!"
"Whatever." I roll out of bed and she walks out the door, still laughing. I change back into my clothes and lace up my boots. I walk downstairs and eat a granola bar. Wow I was really getting sick of eating these things. The day passed by uneventful and the boys weren't back yet. Everyone else thought they were just taking their time so as not to disturb anything.
"But they could be in trouble!" I argued.
"Birdget! I'm sure they're fine." Zavia told me.
"No I'm going after them." I started towards the door and they all grabbed me.
"No you're not. Bridget you're one of the leaders and we need you. Alive. Now what's that going to do if you go and get yourself killed and the boys being fine?" Olivia told me cruely.
"It would mean I'd die honorably." I stated stubbornly.
"No." They all said in unison. I storm up to my room and slam the door. Not to be mean, but I could really care less if we lost Jonny. But I care too much for Adrian and Leo. I can't just leave them out there, alone, and helpless. Okay so they're not completely helpless but you get the point. I'm going after them. Tonight. I pack a small backpack with water, food, and an extra weapon. I bring my walkie-talkie with me too. I don't leave right away though. I wait until they all fall asleep.
