Cheryl awoke the next day to a dark and empty room. She reached over to her alarm clock and brought it closer to her vision.

3:45PM

She groaned into her pillow before bringing both of her hands down and pushing herself towards the edge of the bed. Given all the times that she'd blacked out from consuming way too much alcohol, she had never slept in this late before. To make things worse, she had a throbbing headache that ran along each of her temples.

After getting dressed and taking a quick bath, Cheryl desperately tried to compose herself before coming face to face with Simon. She wasn't mentally ready to face him yet, but she knew that she couldn't put it off any longer.

As she made her way down the spiral stairway, she located Simon pacing around in the kitchen, clearly deep in thought. She adjusted her wet hair to look a bit more presentable before bringing herself closer to Simon. She stood just arms reach away from him and leaned against the counter, doing everything she could to avert his gaze. Given everything that happened, she was still completely mortified by her behavior.

Simon stared at her so intently that she swore he could have bore a hole into her skull.

"Cheryl -" He started.

"We need to talk." Cheryl finished for him. "I know."

They remained silent for a good minute.

"Well I guess I'll start. What happened last night Cheryl?" Simon asked.

Cheryl began to fiddle with her fingers and shift uncomfortably. She didn't even know where to begin.

"When you were washing off, I was left alone with my thoughts..." Cheryl began. "And I just caved."

"Caved? How do you mean?"

"I've been trying very hard to be strong Simon, by being positive and lighthearted and whatever. But last night I just completely lost it. I caved and listened to all the voicemails that Ashley left on my phone, and it just became too much to handle at one point. It was a horrible mistake." She answered, still kicking herself over the mental image of throwing herself at Simon. The image was horrifying to say the least.

"Voicemails aside, what do you remember from last night?" Simon asked inquisitively.

To be completely honest, he had more things on his mind than her inebriation, not that he wasn't concerned about that as well. After putting Cheryl in bed, he spent the entire night wide awake, just replaying their kiss over and over again in his head. He didn't know what to make of it, but he definitely needed to clear things up with her today. Simon was pretty sure that the alcohol was to blame for her advancement on him, but he wanted to be sure. Or rather, he needed to be sure.

At his question, Cheryl was rendered speechless and she looked away in humiliation. She knew the question would come up eventually but she had no idea how to answer it without coming across like a pathetic needy girl. She didn't want Simon to think that she forced herself on him because she was lonely, but she wasn't sure enough about her feelings to say much else either.

Cheryl ran her fingers through her damp hair and did one of her push 10 licks.

"If you're asking me if I remember what I did last night, believe me I do." She finally answered.
