"Jason"
Jason spun round just in time to collect the girl calling him into his arms. She flung herself around him and kissed his neck.
He held her tightly and lifted her up so her feet no longer touched solid ground.
"I thought for a moment that you were avoiding me" she said as he put her back onto her feet.
With his arms still held around her waist he kissed her on the forehead and spoke quietly.
"Now why would I do that?" He said, forcing himself to sound overly hurt. She looked up at him with puppy dog eyes and he sighed.
"I had to go for some extra maths sessions Amelia" he said hesitantly, painfully aware of the A* Amelia had just received in her last exam and the D he had just received in his.
She looked at him for a long time in which his heart rate increased dramatically. He feared that she would be disappointed.
"Okay, let's go get something to eat! I'm starvingggg!" She said with a shrug, putting her arm around Jason's waist and together they walked through the school corridors and headed out.
As they walked down the street together swapping stories of their day Jason heard loud footsteps.
Soon enough a body was crashing into him and he was forced away from Amelia, stumling onto the road.
He quickly realised who it was based on the laughing and the disapproving huffs coming from Amelia on the pavement.
"Greg go away!" She moaned and Jason managed to straighten himself up to see Greg.
Greg was large and wasn't much for 'deep conversation'.
"I'm sorry. Did I interrupt your 'romantic stroll'?" He asked mockingly and Amelia let out a frustrated groan.
Greg wedged himself between Jason and Amelia as they continued heading into town.
An awkward silence hung in the air as Amelia walked, her arms folded and Greg ambled along in the middle, oblivious to anything around him.
Greg started to whistle a pointless tine and clearly Amelia had had enough and she let out another moan.
"What do you want?" She cried and Greg looked at her baffled, as if seeing her for the first time.
He put his arm around her shoulders and smiled contentedly to himself.
"Is it a crime that I wanted to spend time with you after football practice beautiful?"
"She's not your beautiful!" Jason snapped, feeling he was crossing a line, however it was not unlike him to act this way around Amelia and Jason could see why.
Amelia was stunning, every guy wanted to be with her and every girl wanted to be her.
"Woah all right man chill" he said removing his arm and putting them up in surrender, before giving Jason a light punch on the arm, which he did not appreciate.
Jason whished he would go away but his prayers were empty.
They were nearing the café and came to a sudden stop at the road as a car sped past.
The Red Café. They always came here. Him and Amelia had a routine, they usualy met during the day and exchanged stories then they would walk here, either alone or with friends.
Little did Jason know that this familiar routine was about to change.
