"Oh God! How Dare They!" Alfie cried, his eyebrows furrowed making him look angrier than Jason had ever seen him.

Jason was sat with Alfie on the bench outside. They were about to do some maths revision and Jason had just filled Alfie in on the smashing of his window and the graffiti.

"I wouldn't call you a nerd" Alfie said, looking thoughtful.

"Neither would I" Jason said, unable to hold back a laugh just waiting to come out.

Alfie laughed too, his bright eyes lighting up when Jason smiled.

"Okay come on lets get some work done"

Towards the end of lunch Jason caught sight of Amelia glaring at them sat together.

Their eyes met and she swirled around, heading back inside. Jason sighed, is she really still upset?

"We should head off" Jason suggested and Alfie agreed.

"Do you want to go over some more notes after school?" He asked as he began packing up.

"Yeah. Your house?" Jason said, not wanting to see his parents. Alfie smiled and gave Jason a pat on the shoulder.

Jason was passing to his lesson, having just said goodbye to Alfie when someone rammed into him.

"Hello nerd!" The girl said and Jason tried to put a name to her face but he didn't quite recognise her.

"I hear you love work so much, now do this paper for me! It's due tomorrow" she hissed, slapping a paper against his chest.

Jason did not take it. "Why would I do that?" He asked, leaning over her with a threatening glare.

"Cause next time it won't just be your window that gets broken!" She laughed and Jason grabbed her shoulder and threw her against the wall.

"That was you?" He cried, letting go of her as not to draw attention, the girl looked scared now. "You and who else?" He asked, knowing she hadn't been alone.

"Mason okay!He asked me for my help."

Jason stepped away from the girl and gave her a look of pure disgust. Mason had the habit of getting people to do anything for him.

Jason decided to leave her there and followed the crowd.

When the end of the day arrived, Jason went to his locker to wait for Alfie.

He had been stood there long after school had ended and the corridors had emptied.

He was about to text Alfie, to ask his whereabouts when he heard a noice. Like scraping feet on the wooden floor.

Jason pocketed his phone and headed, cautiously down the hall of lockers.

He saw three people. Mason, Greg and

"Alfie!" Jason cried staring at Mason and Greg who were looming over him. At the sight of Jason, they turned tail and ran off.

Jason couldn't focus, he felt dizzy as he looked at Alfie slumped against the wall. Blood.
