Jason smiled to himself and put the note aside to watch Alfie walking away.
It had been too long since he'd seen him...well anyone for that matter.
Suddenly there was the sound of a key in a lock and Jason's door sprang open.
"You're boyfriend came for a little visit!" His dad spat and Jason stumbled back slightly, swiping his hand over the surface of his bed and knocking the note onto the floor and under the bed.
"He's not my boyfriend Dad I promise! Unless you mean my friend who is just a boy!" Jason cried, not completely lieing, they had never labelled each other as boyfriends.
"So you kiss all your male friends?" His dad boomed, his face turning a hot red but suddenly his demeanour changed and he calmed down.
"I am so disappointed in you boy..." he muttered and with that he left the room, locking the door behind him.
Jason stared at the wall in shock. He didn't know what to do or how to react.
All he could think of was Alfie and when he was going to see him...
The answer was at 11pm that very night when a tapping sounded at Jasons window.
Jason had stuffed himself into bed, everything that touched him hurt and he tried to ignore it and sleep but he had failed.
when the tapping started he opened his tired eyes angrily but then he remembered Alfie's note and he forced his aching body out of bed and to his window.
He pulled back the curtain and stared out into the night. Alfie stood at the bottom of Jasons window and knew he wanted to come up.
Jasons window was too far from the ground, his house being rather large. There was no way Alfie could climb it.
Jason slid his window open and leaned out as far as it was safe.
"The back door is unlocked" Jason said down to Alfie, half whispering and half yelling all at once.
Alfie nodded to acknowledge he'd heard him.
"Keys are kept in a kitchen draw, they are all labelled" Jason said bitterly, but he was thankful at this moment for his parents comprehensiveness.
Alfie nodded and disappeared down the side of the house. Into the dark.
He's on his own now! Jason thought, closing his window, switching his bedside lamp on and going to sit on his bed, waiting anxiously.
He only hoped his parents didn't wake up. He dreaded to think what his dad would do if he found Alfie rummaging through his draws.
A few minutes passed but to Jason they felt like hours. He heard light footsteps and a key sliding into a lock.
Jason jumped to his feet, his heart pounding in his chest.
The door opened and closed quickly and quietly.
Jason ran forward into Alfie's arms and the boy collected him willingly.
Jason wanted to cry on Alfie's shoulder but he also desperately wanted to kiss him.
Jason pulled back but only for a split second as he was soon smashing his lips against Alfie's and they crashed into the wall rather loudly.
Jason pulled away and Alfie started giggling, shushing him with a finger to his mouth and Jason smiled.
Alfie's expression quickly darkened as he noticed Jasons battered face.
Alfie put a hand to Jasons bruised cheek and gazed at him with worried eyes.
"What happened?" He said, whispering in a determined voice.
"Nothing...it's fine really it's not that bad" Jason reassured him and he scooped Alfie's hand in his, gently removing it from his cheek and placing it in front of his chest.
"Really, I'm fine. Now that you're here anyway"
