Jason finally went home, reluctantly.
His parents were sat waiting for him on tue sofa, letterin hand. He hadn't meant to be late but the post must have come early.
"Sorry I'm late" Jason stammered, locking eyes with his dad who managed a firm smile.
"It's fine. We weren't waiting long" he said to Jasons surprise and Jason took a seat beside his mum, who passed him his letter.
He slowly ripped it open, his heart beating and he felt very pressured with both his parents eyes on him.
He opened it to see his three grades, an A in psychology thank god, that was my best hope of an A! Jason thought, silently praising himself.
English, a B which he was pleased with and Maths.
"I got a B!" Jason cried, nearly jumping to his feet in surprise. His mum let out a sqeak of what Jason hoped was 'happy surprise'
"Oh well done honey! I never thought I'd see the day!" She cried and Jason nodded in agreement. The only reason he was doing maths in college was because he didn't pass in secondary school.
He let himself fall back into the sofa. He had done it finally! He needed to tell Alfie and he wanted to hear what Alfie had gotten.
Jason removed his phone from his pocket and just as he did so Alfie started ringing him.
Jason hurried out of the living room and hid himself away in his room, before his parents could stop him.
"Hey how did you do? Looked at your results yet?" Alfie asked quickly, sounding excited and Jason was glad to hear his voice.
"Guess who got a B in their Maths!" Jason said, barely able to hold back a squeal of delight. Alfie however didn't bother and he screamed down the phone.
Jason held the phone away from his ear, laughing until he was sure Alfie was quite done.
"Well done! That's amazing Jase" Alfie stated, clearly calm again.
"Thanks, I couldn't have done it without you!" Jason admitted. "How did you do?" Jason asked, knowing he would have done amazingly.
"I managed an A in maths and an A* in my art exam" Alfie said and Jason was glad, he knew Alfie had been nervous for his art exam.
"I expected nothing less!" Jason exclaimed and he heard Alfie chuckle quietly.
"Why thank you! Tomorrow we are celebrating!" He announced and Jason had no complaints.
"Well I can't argue with that! See you then" Jason said.
"Bye" Alfie replied gently and they hung up. Jason smiled to himself and thanked the universe for setting his life on the right track. It had taken 18 years but it was finally good again...for the most part anyway Jason thought.
