Jason pulled himself out of bed the next day with just one more hour left of the morning.

He walked over to the mirror, stiff and sore. There was a faint blueish tint to his jaw line but that was not the worst of it.

He peeled his shirt up to reveal his stomach, which was painted a faint purple.

Jason winced with every breath. The bruise spread around his right hip and up his side.

He thought back to the previous night. His dad had only grown more angry and he had seemingly gone mad. Knocking Jason to the floor, kicking and punching him in the same place over and over until he hinself collapsed with exhaustion.

Jason covered himself as much as possible, covering the bruises on his side and the finger marks on his shoulders.

All in all it wasn't that bad, slight bruises but Jason felt confident they would fade in a matter of days.

He sighed, hopped in the shower and splashed his face with the warm water, taking deep breaths to calm himself down.

It was a Saturday and Jason had recieved a text from Alfie saying that his parents had come home.

Jason was happy for him but he had hoped to escape his house and visit him.

So Jason decided to go out by himself.

He left the house, avoiding both his parents who must have still been in bed.

The sun was shining and Jason glared at it in his foul mood. He knew his parents would be cross to see him gone, his results were coming today and they had requested he be there when they arrived.

It was almost 12 and the post came around 2, so he figured he had a few hours.

The streets seemed to be empty and Jason assumed that people were enjoying the opportunity to have a lie in now that college had finished.

Jason turned the corner and saw Mason, Drew, Greg and Amelia all stumble accross the road in the near distance, as if they were drunk.

"Bit early don't you think" Jason muttered under his breath in disgust.

Amelia was draped over Greg like she couldn't stand on her own.

He decided he didn't feel like any drama today so Jason turned back around the corner before they saw him.

He had hoped that along with the end of school, the end of them would follow but there was still the chance of seeing them around the town...and maybe even at the same university, though Jason darent think it.

Jason was ready to turn his back on his life which involved those pricks. He had felt trapped at his college, trapped by them and by his parents but Alfie had given him a way out. Alfie had quite literally saved him.
