"Good afternoon, Ms. McDonald," the woman beckoned. "My name is Silvia. This is Hansen," she pointed at the bald man. "And this is Willis, Bernie, Corkie, and Doug." She smiled, and took a seat. Her henchman stood. "We're a part of Modest! Management, and we came to talk to you about contact with the boys. Espeically Niall." My heart twitched and threw itself out of my body.
"We've already went over everything with the boys, who are agreeing 100%." It has to be good. Niall promised he loved me. "We think you should have zero contact with the boys. Of course, if you do an interview, you'll have to mention them during questions, which is fine espeically for publicity, otherwise no contact with the boys. You can't Skype them, message, nothing. I hear no public appearance, right?" I nodded glumly. "Okay, good."
"Niall agreed?" I lowered my eyes, and pulled a peice of dead skin. "To all this?"
"Yes, why wouldn't he?" She smiled, but got my point, and choked laughter back. Laughter at me. I knew I was absurd. "Oh, child. He's not interested, I'm sorry. To get him back, tell your interviewer it was just because you were terrified." She looked behind me, and gasped. "Oh my, look at the time. Must be going. Have a nice day." When she turned around, I realized the only clock in the room was the one above her head - not mine. In fact there was nothing around my head.
By that time it was late in the day. I was wore out. So many buisness people. The doctor said the scan would take a day or two. If that scan was bad, it would hold me back from leaving. I wondered what country we'd live in now.
The next morning Adrianna was already here. I saw she had the blue laptop back in the bag she was taking home. No one mentioned it. She knew my plans.
We spoke for hours, until 4 pm when a nurse came in with wide eyes. "Can I please have a moment alone with Andrea? It will be quick." Adrianna nodded, and left, but all the nurses kept coming in. Andrea? Andrea McDonald? The one kidnapped with One Direction? Where?! Were they as hot in person, Andrea? Were they nice, Ms. McDonald? Endless questions upon questions. I thought back to that woman Silvia. She told me not to mention them, but how couldn't I when I was asked about them?
"There's been a ... unnormal sight in the scan. Doctor recommends a ultrasound to prove his beliefs." I nodded, more scared of the ultrasound than the belief. I decided not to worry myself. A belief is an opinion. Doesn't mean it's true. Things like ultrasound abnormalities happen all the time. She told Adrianna have a seat across the room, since my documents say show no one. She rolled an ultrasound in the room, and lifted my shirt up to below my breasts.
She oozed the cold blue gel on my belly, and rubbed it everywhere. She tried to smile, but smiling got me more nervous. She got the pen and rubbed it everywhere till she got a good spot.
"Mmhmmm." She moved it left, right, up, down. Eventually she smiled warmly - she had the perfect spot. She printed the paper out on a small receipt. She sympathetically smiled. "The doctor was right," she said, barely audible. Only I and her heard. She rolled her chair over to me, and asked if I wanted to see it. I nodded. The doctor was right.
There was a black paper, with an odd feeling. It was shiny, and slippery. I looked at the outline of an oval. A C shape sort of. There was a small circle, and a oval under the circle. I squinted, but still saw what I thought I saw. I looked at the woman. She nodded. "Is that...?"
"Yes, it is. Congratulations. The ultrasound says 3 months. Seems about right. I'll notify the doctor, and agents."
Adrianna took the paper, and I watched her get wide eyed. "Oh my..."
I took the black slip back, and tried to see anything but that. I was only 18. I squinted harder. No luck. How can this possibly be what it is? I just stared at the picture of my unborn baby.
