Ding.
A message.
It had been a typical Tuesday morning at Heithan's and I was just checking my emails as I received a new one.
It was a message of the dating website I used a few weeks ago saying they would have found a match for me.
They are so funny.
I thought about checking out the profile of my "match" and since I hadn't got any work to do at the moment, I did so.
I quickly checked if no one was watching and then I clicked on the link to the account.
It loaded and loaded and loaded. The internet wasn't really fast here. Finally a profile opened up - "Jacob Campbell".
A guy. Thank you. Not that I wouldn't like homosexual couples - love knows no boundaries - but I know how many humans think about them.
Even though I knew I can't fall in love I looked through the profile just because, as all of you know already, I am curious.
In the end is wasn't his account that was interesting, it was an account which was portrayed in a list of profiles beside Jacob's.
I got a weird feeling while looking at the name - and then I opened the profile. Finally I knew what's going on. I immediately had to think about Annie as I saw his profile.
Quickly I opened the chat with Ann and left a message "I know you think I'm a psycho but you got to believe me. I found your soul mate. Please contact him. His name is Gale Sutters."
I sat there, staring at the screen, totally excited but unfortunately I got no reply - obviously she was still ignoring me.
I decided to wait a few more minutes for an answer but then Mrs. Heithan walk up to me and placed her hands on my desk. She was looking more than just stressed - actually she rather looked like she was about to panic.
"Ferron, get moving. We need you." she said while pushing herself away from my desk. Then she turned around on her heels and started walking away fast.
I didn't know what was going on but I got up and sprinted a few meters to keep up with her. Afterwards we were walking beside each other.
"What do you need me for?" I asked and followed her in the elevator.
"We have one of the most important photo shootings in the history of our company today and the male model didn't show up. We tried to call his agent but no answer, so we need someone else quickly because otherwise the photographer will leave now."
"But why me? I'm no model and I never did something like this."
The door of the elevator opened and Mrs. Heithan stormed out of it, me trying to keep up with her.
"I don't care. You look better than all of our models together and we aren't willing to throw out thousands of dollars for a campaign which won't get finished. So get in the fitting room and let the stylist do her job." She ordered and pointed at the door of the styling room.
I looked at the door, afterwards back at her and then back to the door. Not even daring to ask another question I walked inside.
The room was bright and there were five tables with mirrors on them. A lot of makeup, brushes and clothes were laying on the tables and in the middle of the room was a woman. She was about 20 years old, had blonde hair and wore a light blue dress.
"Hello, I'm Olivia. Take a seat, please, so we can start." The girl ordered with a smile and pointed at a chair.
Even though I still wasn't convinced of the idea of being a photo model, I did what she told me to.
Then Olivia walked to a table full of hair styling products.
Afterwards I got styled - I think my hair has never been that greasy before. Nevertheless it didn't take her long to style me.
You know, I'm the most beautiful creature ever.
"Ok, done. Please, put that on now." Olivia said and held a pair of boxer shorts to me.
"Nothing else?" I got up from my seat and raised an eyebrow.
"Exactly."
I'd never understand the concept of fashion but I did what she told me to because I knew I had to hurry up.
I took the boxer shorts and hung them over the chair. Afterwards I quickly unbuttoned my jacket and my shirt, which I pulled off afterwards.
I didn't notice that Olivia was staring at me so I just opened my pants and pulled them down along with my boxers.
I didn't know there was a fitting room. I didn't know this was inappropriate.
I guess stuff like that happens in - the heat of the moment.
Olivia looked at me and cleared her throat. "Actually you should have went in the fitting room" she let out a laugh and her eyes wandered slightly off - I suppose you know what she was looking at.
"Oh. Uh. I'm sorry." I said while grabbing the boxer shorts and put them on.
She nodded and slowly embarrassing silence creeped its way in the room so I knew it would be best to get going.
I walked out of the room and straight to the photo shooting hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Heithan had been waiting for me already, just like the photographer.
The photographer led me to the background for the shooting and got in position afterwards.
"Stay relaxed and do whatever I tell you to do - and try get rid of this facial expression which say 'Help, I'm getting tortured'." the man told me chuckling. I knew he was joking, but I only felt even more confused and irritated because of this comment.
I agreed and a minute later he showed me which pose I should do and I tried my best to copy it.
"Great!" he exclaimed and pressed a button on his camera.
The flashlight went on shortly and afterwards it was possible to see the photo on a big monitor.
Mr. Heithan was the first one to see it and looked at it in shock "What is that?"
Oh no.
