At the park had been a lot of people. There were couples with babies and elder married couples taking a walk along the lake and a few children running around between a grove.
It took some time until I spotted a girl standing at the middle of a greenswards. She was tall and thin like one of those models on TV spots or on ad banners and definitely not older than 25. The girl was wearing a thin grey pullover which sleeves were too long so they were covering the half of her hands. She was playing with the ends of the sleeves and looked around, obviously looking for me.
As I walked closer I realized something about her. I knew her.
She was the girl I talked to when I was out with Luce. I stopped walking and looked at her while thinking of why she contacted me all in sudden, but I couldn't figure out a proper answer so I walked over to her.
Once she saw me her mint green eyes sparkled and a bright smile appeared on her plump lips. "Cupid! I can't believe I found you!" she ran towards me and embraced me in a tight hug, her arms wrapped around my waist.
"It's nice to see you too." I said insecure and for now I didn't respond to her hug. I just stood there awkwardly.
The girl let go of me and looked at me, still there was a high smile on her face. She pressed her hands lightly on her cheeks for a second and squealed "I'm so happy to see you! I still can't believe it. I thought I would never see you again after you disappeared that night."
I nodded and tried my best to remember her but I could only remember her face, nothing else.
I shook my head lightly to get out of my thoughts and finally I managed to ask her, "I'm sorry but who are you?"
"Brea. Brea Richards." she said and her beautiful smile vanished. Then she pulled her sleeves more over her hands and added quieter than before "You don't remember me?"
"No, I'm sorry." I said and looked apologetic at her.
Brea's glance fell on the ground for a second while she nodded her head and then her eyes met mine again. She opened her mouth a bit like she was about to say something but she didn't and closed it. So we just stood there. None of us said a word and slowly the situation became awkward. I took a look around and made a small step away from her. Finally Brea broke the silence, "I saw your photo." She brushed a strand of hair out of her face and continued talking, "It took me so long to find you. I was looking for the angel of love since I first met you." She chuckled quietly.
When I met Brea for the first time no one knew about my identity, so it was a mystery to me how she knew I am the angel of love.
Afterwards I asked her to explain everything to me, what she did right away.
I was told that we met in a club called "The Clip". While Lucifer was at the bar I actually only had one job, to wait for him but being as drunk as I was I walked away from him and strolled through the club. There had been a lot of people dancing and rubbing their bodies against each other so I had a hard time getting through the crowd. It was even more complicated because I already had a hard time to keep straight on.
There wasn't a certain spot I wanted to go to but I got pushed from all sides so at some point I fell down. I wasn't hurt. I was only laughing. Nevertheless Brea ran over to me and held a hand out to help me get up, asking me if I was okay and telling me how sorry she was. That's how we first met.
Then we started a conversation and at some point we were sitting at the bar on two red leather bar stools telling each other stuff about ourselves until I blurted out about being an angel and told her my name. Brea didn't belive me - no human being would have - but I insisted to prove it.I got up from the stool and took her hand to lead her out of the club. Outside we walked in a side street where so people were at the moment. Brea felt highly unconfortable at this moment but I was too drunk to notice it. I was too drunk to notice anything.
I didn't think about it for long and simply spread my wings, making it possible to her to seethem. A quiet flap was possible to hear until those soft black wings were completely outspread and Brea looked overwhelmed at them.
Later on we walked back in the club and Lucifer saw me. Not much later we left the club because he was bored. Unfortunatelly I didn't give any of my contact details to Brea, because of this she didn't find me for so long.
Now that the banners of Heithan's were almost everywhere she recognized me on the picture and managed to find out my name. By looking up my name online she found my profile on the dating website and looked at all the match-making requests humans were posting on my timeline. Brea signed up there to send me a message but didn't give away anything about her because she didn't trust those websites.
That's how we met. That's how I convinced her. That's why we ended up in the park.
I nodded and tried to process all the information I just received. While rubbing the back of my neck I looked at her and asked, "And why did you even want to find me?"
"I need your help." she stated, sounding more serious than earlier.
I tilted my head slightly, "Help? Help with what?"
"Uh." Brea took a sharp breath and pressed her lips together so they formed a straight line, "With finding my soul mate. You can do that, can you? You're Cupid after all."
