Whooosh
I let go of the arrow and watched it fly towards the person I took aim at. Now it was official - I broke the rules. This was the moment I ruined my life. This was the moment I was sure I'd fall - I'd become a fallen angel. But let's get back to my story...

Gale and I didn't stop writing even though I had promised I'd leave him alone, but then he said it would be okay. He told me a lot about his wife, Juliette. She looked similar to Ann, both had short red hair and had dark brown eyes. Ann was just as pretty as her and even talked like her.

I supposed Ann was a reborn soul. Every soul has a mate and when this mate dies there isn't just a new one. Ann probably chose to life in another body - which would have died otherwise - so Gale wouldn't be alone. A soul can't take over the body of another soul without it dying, the negative part is that they can't remember anything of their previous life afterwards. They get a new body, the memories of the body they chose and their life. Their old life is gone - forever.

It is possible for humans to live a thousand lives because of the possibility to get reborn, but most of them live only one. They prefer to go heaven and wait for their beloved ones.
But Annie chose differently. She wanted to return to Gale and get old with him.

The more I thought about this the more I was sure that I need to convince him to meet up with her, but is turned out easier than I thought it would be. Once more I suggested Gale to meet up Ann and this time there was an even longer break before he answered. I thought he would decline but then his message arrived - "Okay."

A smile spread all over my face and instead of replying to Gale, I sent Ann a message.

"He said yes. He wants to meet up! Write him!" I hit the "Enter"-Button and leaned back in my chair.

I was back.

Even weeks later I was still feeling great about this. This was the first thing I did right since I was on earth, except for the relationship between Paula and Aiden, and it was a fantastic feeling. I thought nothing could spoil my good mood.

Since I convinced Gale to go out with Annie they met up a few times and they were incredibly happy with each other. Ann often wrote me how thankful she was and that she was sorry for being so rude during our first conversation - but I was never mad at her. I didn't count it as rude. Two weeks ago we slowly stopped writing and so I didn't check for messages anymore.

Anyway, they were the second couple I introduced to each other since thousands of years and it just felt right.

I concentrated a lot on my job ever since and one day Paula told me I'd be invited to a party on Saturday, but she didn't tell me anything about it - I didn't bother to ask. The only things I knew were when and where.

This Saturday was today. I put on a fancy slate blue suit with a white shirt below where I left open the two highest buttons, but I left out the tie because it was uncomfortable to me. Last but not least I put on some black shoes and a watch, and then I left my apartment.

The party was located at the roof of Heithan's and when I arrived there I was already crowded. Though it was possible to see the plain but beautiful decoration. Chain lights were hanging above the heads of the guests and white flowers were standing on and beside the tables which were overfilled with food and drinks. At the end of the roof there was a small stage for a band, which was taking a break at the moment, therefore a woman was standing on it. As I looked closer I saw it was Mrs. Heithan and she was holding a microphone in her hand.

"Looks like our chief guest just arrived!" she declared.

I turned around to look at the door but no one was there. Turning back to look at Paula I realized all eyes were on me. I was the chief guest.

Everyone clapped for a few seconds and then they looked back at my boss. She continued her speech "We're happy you're all here today, because today we're revealing the ad banners for our new campaign! Our most important and most elaborate, not to forget most expensive campaign so far! We had our ups and downs but it worked out - so I'm proud to say, here's the new Heithan's 'Heaven's wear'-campaign!" she moved a hand to point at a skyscraper behind her which had a red cloth hanging over a banner and at the second she pointed at it the cloth fell so the ad was revealed.

It was the photo of me that was taken about a month ago and everyone could see my wings on it. My heart dropped into my gut. The guests were clapping and Mrs. Heithan looked so proud, but I wasn't proud or happy at all.
I hectically looked around and off the top of my head I opened the door to the staircase and stormed out. I leaned my back against the cold metal of the door and tried to think about what this meant to my mission, but I didn't get the change to.

I felt my body heat up and looked at my hands. From one moment to the next they were on fire and everything went white.
