Every day I see Ashton in school. It's hard not to run up to him and kiss him but I rather stay a few feet away and are ignored by him. For outsiders it must seem like all these past years, nothing going on between the popular one and the nerd. It gives me a sting every time I think about it.

But it's all worth it when I'm at home and hear my window creak open. At first I always can only see his silhouette and then Ashton is right in front of me kissing me and more than once we end up on my bed just like at the night of his party a few weeks ago.

After getting home from school I quickly grab the bag from my bed which I already prepared yesterday. It's packed with some comfy clothes, magazines and movies. As I walk out of my room again I grab a jacket that hangs by the door.

I can hear the car horn honk as I sprint down the stairs and out the door again where my mum is waiting for me. Like every second Monday I have a girls night planned with my cousin Allison. At school we never see each other or just say hello while passing since we don't have any classes together and are in different groups. She never was as much into science as me and my friends. But we are quiet close and that's what these girls' nights are for, to keep in touch and be lazy together.

Allison is already styled down to a loose shirt and some comfy pants as she envelopes me in a hug and waves goodbye to my mum. I snuggle into her for a moment before she pulls away laughing and pulls me inside.

It doesn't take long before I'm changed into the baggy shirt and sweats I brought, making myself comfortable in the all too familiar room. A bag full of nail polish is dropped next to me and I can feel the bed dip down. Allison starts chatting about the past week, what's new, what's been bothering her and other gossip.

In the middle of a story about what new mirror she might buy next week I interrupt her suddenly remembering something important. "Didn't you have the second meeting with Calum for your school project this week?" Her smile vanishes within seconds and an angry frown appears on her pretty face. "Yes and it was the worst."

After a short silence she adds "I just can't stand him."

"What happened?"

Allison tells me about the jock she has to do a school project with. Since they have to watch the night sky together, they meet up at night. The first meeting wasn't the best with her doing most of the work and apparently the second wasn't better.

"And after he let me sit there alone in the dark for what felt like eternity he finally made his appearance nearly scaring me to death." Her voice clearly shows her annoyance. "I think I could smell him before I saw him properly. He was so damn pissed all he reeked of were all sorts of alcohol."

I pat her back comfortingly and think back to that night, how would I be able to forget it? It was the night of the big party when Ashton came over later. "I think I know why he was so drunk. He had been at Ashton's party."

"Argh, those freaking punks. You would think that they already killed enough of their brain cells but no they still keep on drinking until nothing is left." I laugh at her ridiculous outburst and remember all the people I saw stumbling around that night.

It's quiet for a minute and I continue flipping through the fashion magazine. "How do you even endure living next to that Neanderthal? I mean aren't the constant parties pissing you off? And seeing all those stuck up people so often?" Allison still sound angry and annoyed. She even lets out a loud sigh. But since a few weeks ago I think his parties are the best things that ever happened. A picture of a topless Ashton flickers through my mind and I'm distracted for a moment. But I can't share our secret so I shake it off again.

"You know it isn't that bad. Ashton's not that much of a douche he even greets me, mum and dad. He's actually quite nice." I try to defend my boyfriend. Can I even call him that? I don't know but I for sure don't want her talking that badly about him.

"I didn't know that you know him. I thought you never talked to him, I've never seen the two of you talk neither in school nor at home." Allison sounds suspicious of something. Not quite believing my story. Why am I that bad of a liar?

My nerves suddenly show and that never happens around her. "O-Oh, I d-don't. We-erm-W-e don't. H-e just s-seems nice?"

"You're not crushing on Ashton, are you? Please tell me you're not that dumb and fall for his boy-next-door attitude. He's an asshole." Shit, she really knows me too well. And I can't get a grip of my nerves when she stares at me like right now. "Oh n-o. I-I'm n-not."

I have to look like a tomato, since I'm blushing so badly. "So is there a guy that you like?" I look up from my hands that were so interesting till now. "Nah, I mean don't get me wrong, I'm totally over Justin but there hasn't been a guy that really caught my attention since him." I hope the topic is over with that as I quickly add "I'm not interested in the guys on our school so I guess I'll just wait till I meet a nice guy when I'm out."

She gives me one last suspicious look before she changes the topic completely talking about this new series with one of our favourite actors in it. I'm glad I can relax again.

Uuupdate :) let me know how you like it and leave some votes and comments!!
