33) A Little Late

Senna-

She can't believe this, and Saito figures out where Luna is. She went with him. Senna was not about to let Saito capture Demitri. She will go to de-escalate the situation.

When they arrived in the town, it was so isolated. It's no wonder they couldn't find Luna.

Who would pay attention to a town like this? It's cute and tiny. No one would think to hide here.

But Luna and Demitri are here. Their scents are all over this town. And it wasn't hard to find where they were staying at. The house is a one-story house. It looks cozy.

Saito didn't even wait and knocked on the door. She had to smack his arm. He can't rush this.

The door opened, and a man greeted them. "Oh, it's you." He scoffs. "The overprotective brother, your Luna's second older brother."

"Second?" Saito frowned.

The guy grinned. "Oh, you don't know. Isn't this interesting? Come in, wipe your feet. Luna doesn't like when her floors get dirty."

Saito glared and wiped his feet on the mat. Senna did the same, and so did Dale. Dale tagged along because he wanted to see Demitri.

The man led them inside. The inside of the house looks cozy. Luna has genuinely made this house her home. There are many little trinkets only Luna would collect. And there are pictures scattered all over. Senna checked them out. Demitri and Luna have made fond memories. She can't let Saito pull them out of this perfect environment.

"Where is he?" Saito glared. "I'm here to take him in."

"No one is taking anyone," another man came from the hallway. He had a water bowl; Senna returned the picture frame to the table and walked over. She sniffs the bowl.

"Blood?" Senna looked at the rags covered in blood. She pushed past him and entered the bedroom at the right. "Oh!" She rushes over to Demitri. "Demitri?" She combed his hair down. He was sweating profoundly. He is pale, and his veins look black. But what caught her attention was the wound on his chest.

She lifted the gauze and gasped. The wound had become infected; it's what's causing Demitri's veins to turn black. What happens?

Saito enters with Dale and the two men. Saito groaned.

"What happened?" He asked. "Where is my sister?"

"Don't threaten me," the man glared. "First, I'll drop the act. I didn't know the situation had gotten this dangerous. My name is Jack Preston; I'm an alpha, a shifter. I'm not a wolf; I'm a lion. And this is my wife, Denny. He is my lioness, my soulmate. He's an omega that'll soon give birth to our cubs." He glared. "So I suggest you tune it down; Demitri and Luna are our friends. Since the day he and Luna moved here, they became part of my clan. Respect Demitri. And don't look at him as if he did something wrong."

Saito glared. "He kidnapped my sister after stabbing my father."

"And?" Denny looks at Saito with confidence. "Aren't they soulmates? I'm sure Demitri, stabbing your father was a valid reason. We don't judge."

Saito growled.

Senna growled back, and he settled down. "Enough, we didn't come here to fight."

"He doesn't look well," Dale clenched his fits. "Who did this?"

Jack leans against the wall with the window. He looks outside. He was looking at something. Saito walked to the window and peeked out. "Who's that?"

"The female angel," Jack said. "She's been there since finding Demitri outside dying. I thought she had killed him. But no, she was trying to cure him. She didn't let us see her face. She was already far away when we got to Demitri."
