Mom and Dad come home today and let me tell you, I am thrilled. I can't wait to see them. I am a little nervous. They know about the pregnancy of course and I plan on going to the doctor with them tomorrow to find out what I am having.
I am up right now cleaning the house. Kayla is still sleeping and so is Carter. I didn't want my parents to come home home and the house to be a wreck. It might not be as bad as I think and the nesting is just kicking in a little too early. I don't care.
The flight arrives at ten so they should get home around eleven. It's only nine, so I still got time.
I decided to cook a welcome home brunch. I cooked some steaks on the griddle, fried and scrambled some eggs, and cut some fresh fruits. I think that will be good.
Oh I can't wait!
"What are you doing up so early?" Kayla asked, coming into the kitchen.
"Um, actually you are up late. I let you sleep in this morning." I told her skipping around the island.
"Oh that's right, Mom and Dad come home today." said Kayla. Kayla and I are so close, she just calls my parents, her's.
"Yep," I said popping the p.
"I think Carter is up." Kayla said.
"Okay, I will go get him." I made my way up the stairs and to Carter's room. "Hey booger. You ready to see Mama and Daddy." I grabbed him out of his crib and sat him on the floor. He started walking around. Yep that's right. He can walk now.
Someone knocked on the door and Kayla hollered that she got it.
I got Carter dressed in a white tee-shirt and overalls.
"Adriana, you might want to come down here." Kayla yelled from downstairs.
I grabbed Carter and made my way down the stairs. Two officers stood behind Kayla.
"Are you Adriana Lain?" One of the officers asked.
"Yes sir." I said, a little confused to why two officers were standing in front of me.
I handed Carter over to Kayla
"Miss. Lain, I am sorry to tell you this but you parents were in the plane crash that occurred today and they didn't survive. We also want to inform you that investigators have found that the plane was hijacked and your parents were the hijackers target. Please be aware that they might come after you next. I am so sorry for your loss." The officers then left.
I couldn't handle all this information being thrown at me. I just completely lost it. My knees gave out and I fell to the floor crying. My parent, the ones I hated for so long for not being around. The ones that were now coming around spending time with me, gone. Forever!
How am I going to go on living my life without both my parents? Most people lose one parent at a time, but no I lost both mine at once.
Carter doesn't even know what going on. He lost his parents too.
Why did this have to happen to us. I can't do this right now. I am teenager. About to be a mom. I just lost my parents forever and I have to take care of my brother.
"Adri. Adriana, are you okay?" Kayla asked rubbing my back.
I just continued to cry. I can't do this right now.
"It's going to be okay, I promise." She said, continuing to rub my back.
"How do you know that? There were suppose to be here to find out if I was having a boy or girl. Know they won't be there. It's all my fault."
Kayla grabbed my face and looked me in the eyes. "This is not your fault. I do not want to hear that come out of your month again. Do you hear me? Your parents were pretty much murders. And you are not alone in this."
The baby kicked me. That was the first time I ever felt him/her kick. I smiled.
"What?" Kayla asked.
"The baby just kicked for the first time!" I grabbed Kayla's hand and placed it on my stomach.
Her eyes got real big. "Oh my gosh!" She was as surprised as I was.
I spent the rest of my day with Carter and my friends. Kayla called Sam and Chase, telling them what happened. They immediately came over and comfort me. I didn't want to call anyone and tell them yet. I will do that tomorrow. I just want to spend some time with Carter. Him and my friends are all I need right now.
