The feeling I felt the second I saw James, the happiness that had overcome me. The moment I looked up to see his worried eyes looking down at me, how when I saw him, thousands of emotions over came me. Happiness, joy, thankfulness and just so relieved to know he was okay. The moment I saw him I was so relieved to see he was safe, alive and back with me. After six months of fighting, depression and death... Wondering if he was even alive, if I would ever see him again, if I would ever fund out what happened. And now I know I would, He did come back... Now I have my best friend back, alive, the only person I know who is alive who is from before it all, that feeling is like no other. S many wonderful emotions.
"James!!!" I yelled hugging him tightly. "Woah there, its good to see you too" he said with a smile hugging me back. "I thought I lost you" I said still hugging him. "Never" he smirked. As we stood there, hugging after six months of wondering if the other was alive. I felt so safe, for the first time since he went missing, in his arms I felt safe. Finally after what seemed like five minutes I let g of him. "Your okay" I smiled at him. "You are too, I hope" He said knowing I just had a moaner on me. "Yeah I'm good" I said. James had changed since I last saw him. He was much taller, taller then me in fact. His hair was longer and he was all messy like the rest of us... But there was something else, probably the same thing that changed in me though. That's changed in all of us, the change t survive... But I just hadn't seen it in James yet.
"Um, Alex... Mind introducing us?" Charlie said with a awkward smile. "Oh right, James this is Charlie and Ashton... Guys I was with James when it first went down... When it first happened we were together..." I explained. James nodded. "Are you too related or?...." Ashton asked "No, He's my best friend..." I said plainly. James's small smile grew bigger. "So... Lets clear out the store then..." Ashton said walking in. "Right" I said fallowing the two boys in, James coming behind me.
Once inside we started taking any food we could find. James and I went one way, Charlie and Ashton the other. "S... What happened to you in the woods?" I asked stuffing some soup cans into my bag. "Alex, I'm so sorry I left you like that, If I had a choice I wouldn't have. He started to explain. "I don't understand...?" I said stopping putting the food in my bag. "There was a man, he pulled me back, he grabbed me... basically wanted to rob me... After he threw me on the ground, he went after you but... Luckily I guess he didn't find you.... He stole my backpack and supplies, but not my sword... " James explained to me. "Where did you go for six months?" I asked him curiously. "looking for you, Your grandparents lived a while down the rode still but I had no idea where... Little did I know it was still ten miles away down a side road... So after a while I found a place too stay, and after a while it got cold as you know.. and food started running out.. so I made a run... On my way I herd what sounded like a struggle, so I looked to see two guys fighting off half a dozen moaners... And a girl under one, and she looked wicked familiar. I couldn't even tell you how relieved to see you I was.." James said. I smiled at him... "Same" I looked at him.
After a while of getting plenty of supplies to add to our winter supply, we decided to head back. On the way there was so much happiness... So much laughter and enjoyment. We all got to know each other much better and James and I caught up. I was just so happy to have him by my side again. Once at home we weaved through the traps to get inside. "Wow, did you make these?" James asked me. "Yeah... first thing I did here." I replied with a smile opening the door. "Awesome" James said smiling back. Once inside we emptied our bags and put it in the basement with the wood also known as our 'winter supplies'. After that we had some dinner, canned chicken soup. Then headed to bed.
I woke in the morning, sunlight streaming in through my windows. I smiled stretching . I got up and changed into my clothes. It was sunrise so no one else was up yet. I headed out too my roof seat, as I sat there I remembered the feeling I felt thinking about James, not long ago I was in tears, wondering if he was alive. Now I sat there with a smile on my face, knowing he was safe in bed in the next room over. That my best friend was safe again... And I was sure of it. I sighed happily, staring at at my shoe... I remembered that feeling when I saw him and smiled, I love that I have him back... I love how I'm With three people who can make me laugh and smile in the middle of all this... Then I realized... considering the circumstances... I'm pretty darn lucky...
