Lightning

The dream

When I opened my eyes, I saw that I was not at home, or in the hospital, or even near the R2-Q3 water.

I was in meadow. One with dryed up grains and a small river. I was lying down on my back, and when I got up I saw that lightning bolts where crashing down all over the fields. Just like back in the city.

How did I get here? How long was I out for? Where am I?

As if to answer my question, a man came up to me. And he was my dead father.

"D-d-dad?" I stammered, in shock. He was dead, he died in a bus with a bomb in it. He died, everyone died. He died.

"Listen Elysia, you are in a dream. But it's really me." He smiled with tears in his eyes.

I got up and ran to him. I gave him a hug. The last time I gave him one was the morning he died. When I was happy.

A dream. I was dreaming. The meadow wasn't real, but my dad is. It doesn't make sense. But I'm going to enjoy it sense dreams don't last long.

"Elysia."

I turned around to see a black blur. I could see through the man, the lightning bolts crashing behind him.

I trusted the man. I didn't know what he looked like, but I felt safe around him.

"Do you know why your here?" He asked.

"No. No I don't." I said.

"You are here because you have been chosen to be lightning."

"Who?"

"You are going to be the world's first superhero. We have brought you here so we can teach you how to use your new powers."

"I have super powers? But why me, why do I have powers, and what are they?"

"We will teach you." My dad said. "But only if you agree to be lightning."

I took a second to think about it, and then I said, "I'll do it. I will be lightning."

The blur talked. "Shall we begin?"

Flying, superhuman strength, speed, and hearing. Telescopic, microscopic, x-ray, and heat vision. Bulletproof body. Psychic, and electrical currents running through my blood vessels. The currents making me a natural beauty, no more acne or dirty anything. Shooting lightning bolts out of my hands. Even able to time travel. I was also smarter than anything else in the world. I learned how to use all of these abilities.

But my favorite, is the costume. A tight long sleeve shirt that is a light electrical blue. The knee high combat boots the same color. My skirt and tights a dark electric blue, the cape was pure white.

And my hair. Still the same length, but pure white like the cape. It was still wavy. The tips of the hair both light and dark blue. The same as my clothes.

When ever I need to activate my costume I will just stretch my left arm out in a T-shape like form and let some energy into my fist.

"You are ready to take on the world." The blur said. "The lightning bolts that crashed on your city made super villains for you to fight."

I turned to my dad. "Will I ever see you again?"

"Yes. You will. Whenever you need to talk to me, just use the blue sapphire. For now I'm going to a place where I can watch over you intell we can be together again." He gave me a hug.

I started to cry. "I love you dad."

"I love you too. Now wake up."

Wake up.

Wake up.

When I came to, I felt stronger than ever before. I was laying down on a hospital bed in one of those gowns, with needles in my arms. My family's worried faces staring at me. When they saw that I was awake, relief quickly washed over them.

"Are you okay, sweetheart?" My mom asked.

"What happened to me?" I asked, looking at my charts. According to the papers I was going home as soon as I woke up.

"You got struck by lightning. They didn't think you where going to make it."

"I'm fine now. Can we go home?"

"What are those on your ears?" She narrowed her eyes.

Oh, boy.

After a small argument on my piercings, the paper work was done and we went home.

Once I was home I changed into my softest black pajamas and went to bed.

In the middle of the night, I awoke to a loud bang. When I looked out my window above my bed, and saw a plane was about to crash. One of the engines was on fire and it was going down.

I jumped out of bed and ran outside. The bang didn't wake up my family, I must have been the only one to hear it because of my super hearing.

When I was outside in the backyard I continue to run. I was barefoot but did not feel cold at all, must be because of my unbreakable body.

I was at the middle of the yard in 0.1 seconds, must be because of the the super speed. But when I was, I jumped. I flew up almost 30 feet intell I fell down on my feet in the backyard of the people behind us.

"Come on!" I screamed to myself.

I activated my costume and jumped again. I made two fists in front of me and flew like every superhero. I was flying at the plane when the other engine blew up. The first one came apart from the wing and was coming for me.

I held my arms up like a shield and the engine came apart into little peices. I had no injuries what so ever. I went under the plane and used my super strength to keep it from crashing to hard into the ground.

Up ahead I saw a bridge filled with cars and people who stopped to take pictures of me in my superhero costume. One of the wings where going to crash into the bridge.

"Oh come on." I groaned. I lifted the plane higher and the plane barley got near the people. I didn't need my super hearing to hear their cheers.

The river was 45 feet below me so I put the plane in the water. Sense I was under the plane, I went underwater. I swam to the surface and climbed up one of the wings.

Electricity was practically heat so when I was standing on the wing I was completely dry. I stood proud, my cape flying behind me. I turned to my right and saw that the people inside the plane where cheering and taking pictures of me. I looked up and saw a news helicopter. A headlight fell on me.

I use a lightning bolt to carve a message saying, "my name is Lightning. I am your new hero." Then I flew home fast so no one would follow me.

When I came home I used my powers to change out of my costume. I flew into my my room and into my bed.

Acting as if nothing happened.

I fell asleep, and prepared myself for thanksgiving dinner the next day.
