The start of my story

When I woke up the next morning, it was a school day. But I slept in since the doctor said that I should stay out of school for a day or two.

I changed into black skinny jeans, a black T-shirt, my black knee high combat boots, and a black leather jacket where the hood and the sleeves were a gray cotton fabric.

I went downstairs before anyone. I turned on the coffee maker, and got some cereal. I ate in the living room to watch the morning news.

As expected, Lightning was the citys top story. There was a picture of me standing tall on the planes wings. The next picture was of engineers trying to get the plane out of the river. Then there was an interview with a witness of the save.

"She was incredible. I never seen anything like it. The worlds first superhero! She calls herself Lightning, she saved my mother. I thank her for that. Lightning is a hero." The witness said.

I smirked to myself. I'm a hero. The glory won't last thought. There are probably hundreds of people who hate me. For their jealous reasons.

Brittany came in ready for school. She stopped to look at the tv. Amazed by what she saw.

"Pretty interesting, huh?" I asked.

"It's incredible. A superhero. She's beautiful." She turned to me. "Speaking of beautiful, that lightning bolt made you crazy pretty."

"Thanks, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't because I was struck by lightning." I turned off the tv, then got up to get coffee.

"Why are you drinking coffee?" Brittany asked. "Your not going to school, so what's the point. Your going to stunt your growth."

"I drink it for the taste. And besides, all of my jeans are too short for me at the ankles." I took a sip from the mug.

"Is that why you always wear boots?" She asked.

"Yeah." I then drank haft the cup of coffee.

My mom then came downstairs dressed in her police officer outfit. The reason why she was always on her computer was because she was always working on a case.

She looked at me and paused with one arm in the sleeve of her jacket. She then shooked out of it and put the other arm through.

"Elysia, why are you up? You just got out of the hospital, you should be resting."

"I'm feeling fine, mom."

She grabbed her laptop from the counter. "Well then I expect for you to help me with thanksgiving dinner." Then she left.

I groaned. This was going to be a long day.

11 hours. We have been cooking for 11 hours. It felt like a million years, but I made it through the day.

After cooking, I smelled like bread buns and I had mash potato stains all over my clothes. I went upstairs, took a shower, then changed into my nicest clothes.

A soft black dress and black platform sneakers that had silver zippers. Then I put on my most beautiful silver dimond flower neaklace. It was the last birthday present my father ever gave me. I then tied my hair in a bun, and did my fancy dark makeup.

I turned away from my black full length mirror, my black room was full of black furniture and black and white photos. All of the accessories are silver. The throw pillows, are different shades of gray.

I walked on the black carpet to my black balcony. The city of Wichita, Kansas in front of me. The sun was setting which made the "keeper of the plains" statue a silhouette in the distance.

"Staring out at the city again, Elysia?"

I turned and saw my 15 year old brother standing in the middle of my room.

"Charlie, get off of the black carpet." I marched at him. "This is a no P.W.L.I.T.H zone."

"What?" He asked, getting out of the dark room.

"People who live in this house." I explained.

He shook his head and left. I went to close the door of the balcony, then I grabbed my black phone and shoved it in my black and silver shoulder bag.

I walked down the stairs and headed to the kitchen. My mom was in her best dress, putting silver tin foil on the food. There was over 30 plates on the counter, dining room table, even the living room.

On our last family gathering, I took the time to count all of my aunts and uncles and cousins and whatnot. The answer: 307.

Well, 308 now that my step cousin had a baby at 17. The back seats of the car will be filled to it's limits. And with a family of 7 kids, thats going to be a problem.

4 of them aren't ever my real siblings. There my step siblings. Brittany and Charlie and I share the same father.

And since my family is huge we always have to rent a warehouse to have our holiday party's. For thanksgiving we're going to an old mattress factory.

This was going to be some thanksgiving. I just know it.

We left the house at 3:30 because the warehouse was outside the city. As we were on a highway, I couldn't help but use my x-ray vision on the other cars. One had a mini horse, another a mom going crazy as her kids beat each other up. The last one had a bunch of mixed up Lego peices on the floor.

I desided to use my psychic powers at the same time an discovered a new power. My vision turned blue and when I look at something it will tell me what to do. For example, when I look at the cars steering wheel white lines will show me how to drive the car. I desided to call this power "Lightning Vision". I think it will be helpful whenever I'm saving someone.

We finally got to the warehouse, when everyone was inside my mom asked me to get some gravy from the car. But the second I stepped out there was a vibration on my right hand. When I lifted it up to see it, white writing was being written on my palm.

It said, " Fire at the boating dock. Two ton boat filled with oil could blow up and kill all the workers if the fire reaches it."

I looked around, no one was watching. I turned on my Lightning costume and took off.

When I was in the air I turned on my Lightning vision. White lines gave me directions to the fire. When I got there the place was a disaster. All of the workers where either running, helping, or burned. The fire was coming from a gas pump for boats.

My lightning vision told me to use my super breath. I landed on the ground, took a deep breath, and let a 75mph wind come out. The fire was out in 10 second flat.

When I turned to the workers I saw that they where calling me "Lightning" and taking pictures. The sun was going down which means that my family was coming to the warehouse soon.

I took off to the warehouse. When I got there my mom was outside calling my name. I hid in the trees and changed out of my costume.

I came out into the open. But my mom didn't see me so I snuck in the warehouse. The place was filled with members of my family and step family.

The entire night everyone was asking how I felt after being stuck by lightning. I told everyone that I was fine and that there's no reason to worry.

I was at the other side of the building when I used my super hearing. My mom was having a conversation with my grandma.

"This new case is about Lightning." My mom said. "Were not trying to find her, but were making sure we put all of her work in the files."

My grandmother started talking, "Didn't you hear the news? Lightning saved a boating dock just 2 hours ago."

I stopped listening. It was time to eat.

The rest of the night everyone was on there phones and talking about Lightning.

I was glad to go home and sleep. Tomorrow was Saturday and mom was taking the girls shopping. One of the things I hate but can't get out of.

Just great.
