"We'll be releasing him today." The witty doctor told Mr. Holding's
"Today?!" The shocking outburst came from Lilly. "He's still weak."
"Those two days you were gone, he was in physical therapy." Mr. Holdings answered, still monotone and mellow like the day they got off the elevator.
"A lot can happen in two days, Lilly." Jayce seemed to glare at her and gaze at the same time. She wondered if he remembered everything, or if he thought it was a dream. He got out of his bed, grabbed his street clothes, and walked without a limp into the bathroom.
Worry surged trough Lilly's body, seeing him so well. In the hospital, Jayce couldn't tell her what to do. In the hospital, Jayce couldn't make her kiss him. In the hospital, Jayce was under anyone's control. In the hospital, Jayce couldn't play with Lilly's mind.
But what if it's Addilyn who's playing with my mind?
No matter how high her IQ was, Lilly felt like she could never figure this out. Jayce came from the bathroom dressed in his black and gold track suit, undeniably looking like a million bucks. He put his arm around Lilly, resting half of his weight on her.
"Did you drive my car here dad?" Jayce moved his hold on Lilly to a hug, burying her face in his chest.
Lilly loosely hugged back as she listened to their muffled conversation. He held her like a baby, very gently. Yet, like a child in a truck-stop diner. Lilly could feel the insecurity.
"Okay." Jayce said as they finished up their conversation, and Mr. Holdings handed him the keys. The couple walked to his car hand in hand, then he opened the door for her. Lilly ducked into the low car, studying the strangely quiet Jayce. Her got in the driver's seat, and studied her too.
"Please..." He asked, minding his manners.
Lilly nodded her head and met him halfway for a kiss. His index finger hoisted her chin as he gave her a series of light kisses. He brought himself away after the fifth kiss and smiled out the window.
Lilly speculated, easily impressed by his discretion and gentleness. She smiled at his profile as he looked out the car window. He caught sight of her admiration, and turned to her.
"Where do you want to go?" Jayce started the car. "To the mall? I can buy you some things."
"No." Lilly giggled, intoxicated by his demeanor.
"Out to eat? I'm not really hungry but I will be soon I guess."
"No." Lilly looked for signs of frustration.
Jayce looked down at her and smirked. "Fine, my choice then."

"Did you really just take me to your bedroom?" She observed the clean and tidy room, with a stash of balloons and flowers in the corner.
"Sit on the bed." Jayce motioned her over and acquainted himself on his bed. Lilly raised an eyebrow, and stayed put. "You're the one always complaining that we don't know each other. I want to get to know you."
Lilly wandered over, planting her hands on either side of her, pushing herself up to sit on the tall bed. She swung her legs around. "What exactly do you do?"
"I act, but within the shows I sing. But as far as a singer, I'm no where near good enough to get a record deal or anything like that." He rested his head on his arms. "What's your GPA?"
