Tonight was going to be unexpectedly eventful. Addilyn. Mason. Aria. Chase. It was a love triangle, right?

More like a love tetrahedron, Lilly thought. She loved geometry humor. Their problems were more three dimensional, and secretly, Lilly thinks they could of stopped it a long time ago. But instead they kept digging themselves deeper into a stupid mess. But Lilly still wanted to be there to support her friend witness whatever madness Aria was capable of stirring up.

Lilly was about to crawl upstairs to finish putting on her makeup for the night, when her doorbell rang. Possibilities ran through her head of who it could be. She didn't feel like getting yelled at, but whoever it was, was probably mad at her. Five more fierce knocks followed.

"Lilly! I know you're in here! It's Sage." Lilly laid out on the wall and lightly tapped her head against it a few times.

"Here I come!" She answered. She sighed, knowing it was time to face the music of her absence. She opened the door, and Sage barged in.

"Where were you?! I was worried sick!" Sage spat at her.

"I was scared. . ." Lilly averted her eyes from Sage, twiddling her thumbs as she turned around. "Want something to drink?" She asked with her back turned. Sage circled around.

"Lilly, what are you getting ready for?"

"Nothing. Why?"

"There's makeup on half of your face. The fancy kind of makeup. Smokey eye."

Lilly spread a smile over her half made-up face. "Sage, stop being so paranoid. I'm just practicing my makeup skills. That's what boring people like me do when I'm bored."

"Not with MAC products you don't."

"What's wrong with MAC?" Lilly cried defensively.

"Don't try to change the subject Lilly Felincy! Where are you going? Tell me."

Lilly slumped as she gave in. "I'm going to Addilyn's party tonight."

"You're going to Jayce's party? Why were you trying to hide that?"

"I said Addilyn. Jayce probably won't even be there." The two sat on the first step of the spiral staircase. Sage's eyes bore into Lilly like staples.

"What kind of party is this?"

"Some kind of light party? I don't know, I was too busy panicking at the moment to process Addilyn's message. It's like a shindig type thing, except with fancy clothes."

"Socialite. Those snooty bitches. What does Jayce's sister have anything to do with socialites? Of course Jayce is going to be there. It's his damn party. She's just lying to you, as always."

Lilly took a deep inhale, and held it there. She let all the air out in one quick breath. "It's her party. And Jayce isn't going to be there, because he's mad. Again."

"Hmm. At who?"

Lilly made brief eye contact with her. "At me."

Sage rose to her feet. She paced around the foyer. "Oh sheesh, Lil. What happened?"

Lilly told her the story about the Cruising, the Kiss, the Cursing, then eventually the Kick Out of the Car.

"Lilly, that was mean."

"How was it mean? I just didn't want the kiss. . ." A tear rolled down her cheek. Sage sat beside her and put a hand on her back.

"Look Lilly, you know I love you like a sister. So it's only right for me to tell the truth when you did something wrong. You did something wrong."

"Again?" Lilly spoke soft with little voice.

Sage nodded her head and spoke gently. "Now, you can't expect to be in a fake relationship with someone and not expect some intimacy."

"Isn't that the point of it being fake?"

Sage looked the other way. "I meant staged. It's two different things. Acting and faking, two completely different things. You have to put your heart and soul into making Jayce happy."

Making Jayce happy, what ever happened to making Lilly happy? Somehow, Lilly knew this wouldn't be the last time she'd hear this. Why did so much depend on Jayce? Was money really that dictating? Or was it his rising fame? Which was the champion that could defeat morals? Either way, she had already agreed to this.

Lilly's defiant mood began to ebb as she nodded her head in defeat. "I don't really agree with everything that you're saying, but I agreed to this. And faking and acting; its different."

Sage smiled. "Right, you're performing for a crowd. You got interviewed today, Lilly. Money is one thing that you have have, but fame isn't. Fame is something you want. Hell, I want it too. And we're getting it! So, I want you to go to his party with him and have a good time."

"No Sage, I'm serious. Jayce doesn't want to see me right now and he isn't too fond of Addilyn. He's not coming to that party."

Sage's eyes widened. "You mean you did something that bad? Good grief Lil! He's going to be at that party! He's going to be with someone else. He's going to dump you and you'll fall off the radar just like that."

"He's not dumping me! Jayce may be cruel sometimes, but he's not heartless. Not to mention how horrible that would make him look. Anyways, who even said I wanted to be on this radar?"

"Who wouldn't?"

Lilly's eyes shrunked down to a squint. "Since you're so fond of fame and Jayce, maybe you should've dated him."

Sage took a step forward, then turned around for the door. "I'm leaving. Talk to me when you aren't busy being a bitch to me and Jayce. The people who care about you." Lilly watched her leave. She did not know what bothered her more; the fact that Sage didn't even know Jayce or the fact that she still doesn't know Jayce. Therefore, she had no idea what to expect at the party tonight.

She turned back around to climb up the stairs. Before the tear could shed and ruin her makeup, she dabbed it. Surprisingly, there was only a dot of wetness. Maybe her tears had finally dried up? Probably not, it's just that I'm not going to take the time to over analyze words before I can experience them. She decided to just see what happens.
