"Why do you have to pick her up anyways? Isn't she supposed to have chauffeurs?" Sage complained for the fourth time since they've been in the car. Yes, Lilly was keeping count. The fourth time in 20 minutes.
"That's for her parents. She doesn't get that because it's not her money. And you didn't have to come. I'm perfectly fine with sitting in 4p.m. Los Angeles traffic talking to myself the whole way there." Lilly's eyes were locked to the road, bearing brilliant boredom.
"Next time I won't," Sage retorted kicking her feet up on the dashboard.
"Traffic is standing still, why wait until next time?" Lilly snapped.
"What has your panties in a twist?"
Lilly slowly pressed on her gas as the traffic crawled. "Nothing actually. I had a really good day with Jayce yesterday..."
"Oh, so it's a good kind of twist." Sage pulled off her perfect "emoji" smirk.
"But I'm still hanging out with Blayde today." Sage looked at her, waiting for an explanation. "The dude from the party."
"Lilly!" Sage exclaimed.
"Sage!" Lilly exaggerated. "He's a nice guy and we are starting to become friends. We Skyped last night.
"You can't be publicly running around town with some boy that's not Jayce."
"Who knows, I could be gay to them and I'm running around with you. We're hanging out at my house." Lilly crept into the airport pick up lot. "And don't go talking about Jayce in front of Addilyn. She gets annoyed by it, like me."
"I'm sorry I annoy you about it. I'm just happy for you. But I couldn't care less about what that bitch wants." Sage popped her gum loudly, readjusting her feet on the dashboard. She was almost preparing herself to piss off Addilyn. "It's not that I don't like her, but I don't like her."
Lilly sighed. Why must my two best friends hate each other? Then again, they are from two different sides of the scale. I'm the one stuck in the middle. "You guys barely know each other. Maybe you guys can hang out with me and Blayde. Like a group thing."
"I will not take part in your rendezvous encounter with some boy you just met named Blayde. Lilly, I seriously think you shouldn't be hanging out with someone you just met at a party. He's up to something, and I mean that." She ranted to Lilly.
"I won't be alone. I'll invite Addilyn then."
Sage rolled her eyes. "Fine I'll go then, since you're practically begging me."
"I'm still inviting Addilyn." Lilly picked up the phone and dialed her number.
"It's okay. My mind will be on something else anyways." Sage muttered to herself.
"Hey I'm out here." Lilly spoke on the phone to Addilyn, unaware of Sage's silent rant. Addilyn came out the door with some guy carrying most of her luggage. She tapped on Lilly's window, cueing her to roll it down.
"Airport help is only $20! Can you believe it? Please pop the trunk." Lilly smiled and said hi to both of them, then opened her trunk. They got all of Addilyn's things centered, and she gave him a tip before she hopped in the backseat of Lilly's car.
