In 2014, Jon made a mistake. He told Colby a secret; his deepest, darkest secret that he's never told anybody. He told Colby that he loved him.
Turns out, Colby is a homophobic asshole.
Slowly, the Shield disintegrated, and suddenly Seth sold out by betraying Dean and Roman. It wasn't just Seth, though; Colby betrayed Jon and Joe. All because Jon couldn't keep his mouth shut.
It came as a surprise to the other two members of the Shield. Colby was supposed to tell them about it, but, instead, he kept putting it off, and soon it was too late.
It's now 2015. Seth is still with the Authority, while Dean is doing his own thing. They've managed to stay away from each other, but Jon knows his feelings haven't gone away.
When Colby's world comes crashing down, Jon's the only one who's there for him.
Dean doesn't love Seth, but Jon sure loves Colby.

Also, when Colby's world comes crashing down, it can be one of two things. It can either be when Leighla leaked his nudes because he cheated on her with Zahra (and then Zahra can leave him), or it can be more recent than that, when he got injured and stripped of the title. Both will work.
