After breaking up with Kevin Skaff, Paige's life has been going in a downward spiral.
Title shot after title shot were given to other girls, and when she finally thought it was her chance, she was told she wasn't medically cleared to wrestle.
She thought she'd found her saving grace in a new boyfriend - Alberto del Rio. She loved him - or so she thought.
He's just as unhappy as she is, and when she lets him drag her into his world, she ends up with a suspension and a lecture from Mark Carrano, telling her to clean up her act. Alberto ends up leaving the company, and when she refuses to go with him, they break up.
When Kevin Owens joined the main roster, he was instantly captivated by Paige. While he had no intention of dating her, he did want to get to know her.
And he did. They became best friends, practically inseparable.
When she started dating the other Kevin, they began seeing less of each other, and when they broke up, she shut everyone out, including him. She started dating Alberto, and she still didn't talk to many people.
After Paige and Alberto break up, she finds her way back to the former NXT Champion.

This story isn't a romantic story, if that makes sense. Paige and Kevin are friends and only friends. He is happily married and has kids, and he's not interested in dating her. He's interested in her well-being and just hanging out with her.
Basically, Paige's life sucks, and when she finally realizes she needs Kevin in her life, things start to get better. Kevin helps her figure things out + get her life back together.
This is based on the new Green Day song Still Breathing (because I am emo af).
