Nile ( the gun )

Part 18

Hey Alicia say opening her arm for her mother's embrace. Hey Baby how are you doing? I haven't heard from you in a couple of weeks now. is everything alright with you? Yes Mama everything is fine. They enter home walking into the dining room. So Miss thing, tell me what or who got you missing Sundays with your mama? her eye braw lifted with a smirk on her face. Nobody and nothing got me missing you. Alicia put a smile on her face, but, I knew it was coming who is he? Mama it niles, you remember him? Alicia's mom looks confused for a second. remember when we were young and you used to watch him for his mom Tori. The black boy with the pretty blue eyes. Oh yes now! Wow how is he? Last I saw it wasn't looking too good for him. Lord bless his heart to witness something so horrific as your mother being murdered I could not imagine. You see that's the thing and mom don't freak out Alicia warned her. Well spit it out! Alicia paused for a second he kind of stays with me. Alicia!! She blurted out . before you say anything we ran into each other a month ago he had nowhere to go and no family. It was only right for me to offer him help. He's looking for work and everything. Alicia's mom looked at her daughter narrow-eyed. It's all fine to help a person out. Just don't let it become you just helping him out. I've been there one minute you're helping them out the next minute you're taking care of them all together. All because he has nowhere to go. So be careful is all I'm saying. Don't let any man or woman take you for granted. Mama you raised me better than that. I know Alicia's mom say with confidence.

Getting off the Woodward bus niles made his way to Powerhouse Gym. The morning he had, he wanted to blow off some steam. He went inside finding the weights picking up some heavy dumbells working his biceps looking in the mirror at himself. He wanted to throw the weights at the mirror but knew he couldn't afford to fix the damage. That's when Alicia called him on the phone she bought him. Hey babe she say delighted. What are you doing? Are you done with work? Yeah just about. I'm about to head out in a minute. That's good you probably work up a sweat, what do you want for dinner? She asked. I don't know I'm sure you could think of something good. Babe are you sure you're okay? Alicia asked again she could feel something was wrong with him. Niles didn't want to worry Alicia. could you meet me at our old apartment building he asked. Yeah sure babe I'll be there.

Alicia pulled up in front of their old abandoned apartment building. Where she saw Niles standing in front of in a daze. She came over to him touching his shoulder, he put his hand over hers. Thinking about your mother aren't you? Niled smirk a little she was the strongest woman I ever known. She had a lot of courage to. I watched her out there on the streets, I watched her dance every other night on that pole, & I watched her cry every other night after coming home. I watched her do things she didn't want to do just to support me. Do you know how it feels to know there was nothing you could do to help. I wish I could've done something to make life easier for her. If I had done something anything she'd still be alive today. Niles look down in shame. Babe, Alicia put her hands on his cheeks its not your fault. You were only a boy, what all could you have done? Your mama, she loved you and I'm sure she never looked for you to do anything. You did what you had to do and I'm sure what she wanted you to do and that's to be there by her side and be her little boy. She was the only woman I ever loved. She was my heart. Thank you niles say to Alicia. You don't have to keep thanking me I told you I'll always be here. That's what she used to say. Then you know it's real Alicia say smiling. What about your grandparents have you tried to get in touch with them lately? They're the reason she was out here like that in the first place. She used to ride by their home when I was younger and just sit there. I used to wonder why she didn't just go to them. I could tell she missed them but her pride wouldn't let her. she forgave but I just couldn't do the same. What type of parent leaves their daughter out in the cold? To die, hurting and crying. The hell with them niles scream out.!! She got pregnant with me, my father, her parents, everyone abandoned her. sometimes I do feel like if she would have just aborted me her life would have been different. but she didn't, because she love you and never forget that. Alicia kissed niles softly on the lips you ready to go? Yeah let's go.
