Chasing the light

I walk and walk and walk for hours.

My heart was thudding painfully inside my heart.

I couldn't stop now, I needed to get there.

I won't give up until I see the light again.

I walk and walk and walk for hours.

My mouth was dry and my voice has no sound.

I need to get there and be myself again.

I couldn't be happy until I find that light again.

I walk and walk and walk for hours.

The rain pours soaking me to death.

Then the sun came up, urging me to fight my battle.

I won't let it go, until I find that light again.

I walk and walk and walk for hours.

My human body couldn't take it any longer.

My feet all bruised and numb and couldn't bear my weight for another second.

But if I stop now, I won't see that light ever again.

My soul was burning, telling me it's the end.

I tried to get up and step forward, but my body fails.

My strength left me and the world began to move.

I stopped defiantly and cried my heart out.

Days, months and years passed me by.

Everybody moves forwards, but I.

No one ever noticed I was left far behind.

Seeking alone my own light that has been long gone.

< It's because my heart was aching towards the beggar on the street. :/>
