Boston Memorial Hospital
Jack and Jackie were sitting on the lumpy mattress in Patricks room, he was in the corner of the room building a boat with blocks.
Suddenly there was a soft low knock on the door, "Come in" Jack and Jackie said together.
In walked Patricks doctor, doctor chan
"Hi ya, doctor" Jack said standing up and shaking the doctors hand. Jackie also stood up and shook dr. Chan's hand.
"Hello Mrs. Bouvier and Mr. Kennedy, how are you all today" the doctor asked?
"Were doing ok, doctor, is there something wrong" Jack asked
"Well yes and no, Patricks levels are still very low I am wanting them to be at a 1000 and right now they are at 450, so I am wanting to send her to st. Jude children's cancer research hospital, but if you would like to try and take him home for a couple of days first" Dr. Chan said.
Jack and Jackie looked at each other " would he be ok If we took him home to play with his brother and sisters" Jackie asked quietly
"Yes, I don't see why he couldn't for a day or so" doctor chan said
"Hey pat, do you wanna go home and see bella, caroline and John for a couple of days?" Jack asked
"Yay I wanna go home and play" Patrick shouted exictedly." When can we go"?
Dr. Chan said " you can leave in about an hour, let me get the discharge papers going and the transfer papers started also."
"Ok thank you doctor" Jack said
"We need to get packed up, we will be leaving shortly" Jackie told Patrick.
"Yay, and can we go get some candy too, daddy" Patrick asked?
Jack smiled" yes pat, we can go get some candy on the way home"
"So Jackie would you like and bring the kids to our, I mean my house at the cape or you staying in town at your house" jack asked?
Jackie rolled her eyes and said " I am sure Mia would just love all of us staying in your house".
"Its my house and they are my kids, I don't care what she saids, you all can stay at my house" Jack said.
"Mummy, I wanna stay with daddy" Patrick said rushing over and hugging Jackie by the waist.
Jackie looked down at her son and said "if that is what you want, than that is what we shall do" she than leaned down and kissed Patrick on the head and quickly glanced over at Jack and couldn't help but smile.
