The Way Things Are Supposed To Be!

It took  5 minutes for the car to come to a screeching halt outside the hospital, Jack quickly ran inside to get help, as Jackie scrambled out of the back seat of the car and into the emergency room door, Caroline, Bella was walking right behind Jackie, while Bella was carrying a crying john, all three of the children were scared and praying their baby brother would be ok!

Meanwhile Jack was getting nowhere with the old white haired woman behind the wooden desk, "Your not listening to me, my 3 year old son, has leukemia , he has a huge tumor in his stomach and he passed out he wont wake up" "listen to me please" jack pleaded.

Jackie joined her husband at the desk, the old woman looked up and was saying to Jack "that you have to fill out these forms" she insisted shoving a clipboard full of colorful papers at jack once more.

"no, damn it, find a doctor now" jack yelled "or Patrick wont be the only one that needs a doctor"

the old woman looked scared from jacks outburst and finally noticed Jackie holding Patrick, "oh my gosh, why didn't you say it was an emergency " she snapped.

she than pushed the red button on the wall behind her desk and 2 nurses in green scrubs and 3 doctors in white lab coats rushed out a door down the hall a bit, they all came rushing over and taking Patrick from Jackie,  they all wanted to know what had happened, as they lead Jackie into the back of the emergency department.

Jack let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding  when he saw  that his son was finally getting the help he needed and he better be alright he thought to himself,  he spun around when he saw Jackie disappearing thru the red double doors that lead to the rooms of the emergency department.

He rolled his eyes and looked at the little old woman, he was no where near done with this old bat he thought to himself. As the  old woman sat back down in her chair, Jack walked behind her desk, and got right in her face" you stupid old witch, I told you there was something wrong with my son, and you wouldn't listen to me, if something worse happens to him because it took so long for him to get help, I will hunt you down, and you better go on and sign up for unemployment because I will make sure you no longer work here"

Jack spun the old woman around in the chair, than told his kids to "come on",  jack took John from Bella and than got Caroline's hand and motioned for Bella to come on as they all raced  through the red double doors, Jackie and Patrick had just went thru.

To the left on the other side of the double red doors were a nurses station, with two receptionists sitting in pink chairs, one was young with straight long blonde hair and green eyes and the other one was older, with fiery red curly hair and  blue eyes.

Whenever Jack and the children busted thru the red double doors these two girls were trying their hardest to get Jacks attention to sign in and they also could tell him where whoever it was he was looking for was at.

Jack didn't even stop, he didn't even stop when the blonde walked from behind the desk she was just sitting at and was doing her hardest to flirt with jack.

Jack pushed past the blonde and told the red head that they were looking for his son and wife who had just came thru here with some nurses and doctors, and they would find them on their own he added over his shoulder as Jack and the kids rounded the corner.

There was 5 rooms, with brown doors beside of them and Bella ran ahead of Jack peering into everyone, when she got to the last  one on the right before the elevators she hollered over her shoulder as she opened the door to the room and walked in, "come on daddy, there in here"

It only took Jack, Caroline and John  a few seconds after Bell walked into the darkened room for them to also enter the room.

 There Jackie was sitting in a red chair between the green bed and the window, she had tears streaming down her face and was shaking like a leaf.  When John saw his mother he wanted out of Johns arms and made a beeline into her arms.

Bella and Caroline decided to crawl up and lie on the green lumpy mattress on the bed, Jack looked around the small darkened room and noticed Patrick was no where in sight

" where is he?" Jack yelled

"They took him back for emergency surgery " Jackie cried.

"Why" Jack asked

"Because they think the tumor in his stomach has gotten so big that it is going to start crushing his eternal organs unless they take it out and after he will have to have chemo!" Jackie cried

"Do they think they will be able to get it all out?" Jack asked

"Dr. Chan met us back here and he thinks that they will be able to get almost all of the tumor out, the chemo will help with what they cant get or least it should, they had to give him oxygen because he was having a very hard time breathing but he was starting to wake up" Jackie said.

"Ok thank God" Jack said sitting down on the edge of the bed beside of Jackie, he reached over and took her hand squeezing it tightly.

"I love you" Jack mouthed over Johns head to Jackie

"I love you too" Jackie mouthed back.

Jack pulled out Jackies cell phone from his shorts pocket,  flipping it open he sent a quick to Eunice, Patrica, Teddy, Jean, Kick and bobby a text telling them what had happened and that they were at the hospital waiting on Patrick to come back from surgery,  he exited out of the messaging but first kick sent a text saying love  you and praying five seconds later the rest of his siblings also sent similar text, he smiled and showed the text to Jackie who also smiled.

Jack closed the  phone and laid it beside him on the bed, no sooner had he, the phone dinged, he picked it up, opened it, it was a new text from bobby saying he loved us and was on his way!

John started getting restless sitting in Jackies lap, so he got onto the bed beside of Jack and couldn't sit still there either, so than he climbed between his sisters at the top of the bed and started watching with them, "full house" that was on the small t.v. on the wall in front of the bed.

"we gotta pray" Jack suddenly said to Jackie," I know we do" Jackie said.

she grabbed the t.v. remote off the window seal beside her and pressing the red button to turn off the t.v. she than walked around to the other side of the bed beside of Bella.

Jack moved up the bed closer to Caroline, grabbing her hand, caroline got johns right hand while Bella got his left hand and than jackies right hand, while Jack grabbed Jackies left hand squeezing it tight.

"were gonna pray for Patrick to hurry up and get better" jack told the chidren, all three of the chidren nodded their heads and smiled.

The family all bowed their heads and when they were done all said "amen" john also said he "loved his brother so much" the girls also shook their heads in agreement.

Bella crawled into Jacks lap, putting her head on his shoulder .

 When all of a sudden a soft rapping was heard at the door.
