Boston Memorial Hospital

Patrick had been down for chemo for over an hour now and the time seemed to stop for Jackie, she was sitting in the chair in Patricks room starting out the window.

Right after the nurse had taken him down for chemo, Bobby and Ethel had left and had taken Bella with them back to the cape and than Jack had left shortly after them with a good bye kiss to her head and promises that he will be back soon with Patricks surprise.

Jackie put her arms around her body and sighed, than slowly started rocking back and forth.

"Please dear God, please let this Chemo work for my baby boy" she quietly called out.

Hot tears were burning the back of her eyelids, but she squeezed her eyes shut tight to keep them from falling, she refuses to look weak!

Suddenly she felt herself being pulled into two strong arms and she slowly let out the breath she wasn't aware she was holding.

She opened her eyes and saw Jack. "Oh thank goodness your back" she cried.

"I told you I would be after I got the surprise" Jack said.

"I know but I was just so" Jackie started but willed herself to keep her mouth shut tight, she refuses to tell him she is scared.

Jack smiled and softly said " your scared, and you have a right to be"

Jackie pulled herself out of his arms "I am not scared, I am a strong, independent woman, I need Noone" Jackie said as tears started running down her cheeks.

"Yes you are all of that but you do need someone to take care of you every once in awhile, doesn't make you weak it makes you human and I am here for you" Jack said.

"You have got to be kidding me, your here for me for now you haven't been for the last three plus years" Jackie yelled!

"I know I screwed up in the past but I want to be here for you now" Jack yelled!

"I told you I don't need you John f. Kennedy, I will never need you" Jackie yelled.

" ok, don't need me but I am going to be here whether you want me to be are not, I made alot of mistakes in the past, but I will be damned if I just walk out again and not try and fix things" Jack yelled as tears ran down his face.

Jackie was taken back " you cheated on me, you than just left out family and than and than that witch mia" she quietly said.

"You know we never did talk about what happened" Jack said.

"Point blank, you cheated, left us, and dated a complete idiot" Jackie said.

"Oh Jackie, we have to fix things and we can't do that without talking" Jack said.

The door of the room opened and in walked Bella, Caroline, John and kick with a medium sized red box with holes cut out of the box on the sides.

"Mummy" Bella and Caroline hollered as they threw themselves in Jackie's arms.

"Oh my girls I have missed you so" Jackie said, as she quickly wiped away the tears that were running down her cheeks.

"Mummy what's wrong why are you crying" ?Caroline asked as she noticed her mummy's face.

Bella than noticed her mummy was crying and jumped out of her lap and poked Jack in the stomach "what did you do to my mummy, why did you make her cry"? She demanded

Jack was taken back from his eldest daughter's outburst "i" he started but he wasn't exactly sure what to say to a 10 year old, when she didn't really understand what had happened to her parents.
