Chapter 12
Meredith's POV
Penny leaving is the best thing that's happened to me in awhile. Before Penny came here, I was finally starting to find my peace, but her presence haunted me day in and day out. Now I can finally breathe again. I think Amelia feels the same way, though she won't admit it.
Amelia and I haven't cried in weeks. That's a world record for us. Amelia has Owen to mend her sadness and I have my children (And Alex of course.) I think Jo gets annoyed when I pull him out of their bed, but she needs to understand that he's my person. Christina has been long gone and Derek is dead. Therefore, Alex is my only true person left. I don't know what I'd do without him.
Alex is such a huge help. He helps buy groceries, babysits the kids, and even mows my lawn. He's definitely the type of person you would want to be your person.
