Chapter 28

Callie's POV

   The next day...

      Arizona and I are currently at city hall get remarried, something I didn't think was going to ever happen. I didn't think I was going to say yes, at least right because of everything that's happened, but it just feels right. Arizona told me that she's going to change and she did. I'm so proud of her. 

      The city official rambles the usual introduction. He sounds dreadful, which is probably due to the fact he has to repeat the same phrases at least 50 times a day. You'd be surprised how many people chose to get married in Seattle. After all, Sleepless in Seattle gave me quite the inspiration. Anyways, Arizona unfolds a paper with her vows on it and goes first. 

     "Calliope Torres, I promise to be your lover, companion and friend,your partner in parenthood.Your ally in conflict,your greatest fan and your toughest adversary.Your comrade in adventure,Your student and your teacher,your consolation in disappointment,your accomplice in mischief.This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things. All things. I will love you until my dying day and I will use my last breath on this Earth to tell you that I love you."  

       A lump forms in my throat. That was even more beautiful the second time around. Not that Arizona's vows before weren't lovely, but they don't even compare to what I just heard. I step forward and let my vows flow out of me.  "I remember once how I told you I did not believe in soul mates. I will never forget your reaction. Shocked and a little hurt that I did not think we were. But as time went by, your love made me believe. You are the light in the darkness. Keep on shining bright my love."

         We kiss each other to make it official. The city official smiles for the first time since the start of the sermon. I finally have my Arizona for real.
