Chapter 20
Callie's POV
That night...
It's been a long day. I had to repair four broken legs, 6 broken arms, and perform surgery on two patients, but lost one of them due to post-op complications. I'm beyond exhausted and my emotions are skewed. I can't wait to just plop myself into bed and just sleep. I scramble my pockets for my keys, but realize that I forgot them. Luckily, Arizona's home so she can let me in. I knock loudly and Arizona lets me in a minute later.
"Callie are you okay? You seem out of it." I sigh. "I'm just exhausted and had a really long day. My feelings are a bit all over the place right now. I had 12 patients today. That's like a world record for me in one day. Usually that only happens to me when there's a mass shooting or something. I guess today was just a popular day to break bones."
Arizona laughs and I pout. "It's not funny Arizona. I'm bone dog tired. I'm going to bed now. You can put down Sofia tonight." She frowns but nods an "okay." I force my legs to walk to the bedroom, throw my clothes off as quickly as I can, and lie down. It only takes me a couple minutes to fall into a deep sleep.
