Leo's POV

When I awake, Alec is sitting by the fire I had made last night.

"Whats up?" I ask.

"Why attack us now? Why not attach us a long time ago? Like when the Empire was completed, after the war against the Dragon Empire?" He asks, struggling to keep himself in check.

"I don't know, but I can tell you this." I say, looking at him directly into his eyes." When we do get to fight him, what I'm going to do to him, doesn't even have words for it yet." I say finding myself clinching my fists, sparking up a flame.

"And when I see Mimic again I'm going to return the favor." He states boldly, if he's going to return the favor, for the ass kicking that he was dealt by Mimic, he's going to some serious training. Sadly I'm the only one other than Jace remotely strong enough, fast enough, intelligent enough, to beat Mimic. With that being said, that means he's going to have to train and study hard with me and Jace.

When that conversation ends, I decide everyone needs to get up, if hurry and get a move on it, we might just be able to get there a lot quicker. Once everyone is up and has eaten the sixteen year old gryphon that I killed while Alec woke everyone up, we begin to walk once more. We soon begin to run at full force, this is when our high stamina becomes very useful, outside a fight.

It's midday, we've been running for at least six hours and have done at the least a seven days walk.

"Can we stop? At least for a hour or two." Percival says from the back of the group.

"Not for an hour or two, thirty minutes. That's it, I want to get there by the end of the night, the longer we're out in the open, the more chances we'll have to fight something or someone." I tell them, its harsh but its the cold hearted reality of our situation. We're in the cross section of the Drake Valley and Dragunity Mountains, its dangerous as hell. And it's all thanks to the Drakes and Dragonian beasts that roam these mountains.

"Fine." He responds. We rest for a little more than thirty minutes, but I can't get mad because they've ran along way here and three of us could have kept running. Jace, Alec and I have always been known for having the highest stamina, out of the entire academy.

As we sit around and rest as much as we possibly can, we hear a terrifying howl, from behind us, to the side of us above us, and below use where the river is......it could only mean three things... One its most definitely a Dragonian pack, and for two they know we're here, and they're going to attack. Third... They're starving by the way they are howling.

Dragonian beasts travel in packs around fifteen to thirty, and that's a smaller size pack. They're are highly territorial, and highly vicious. They will attack anyone who comes into their land, without regret. They look like a dragon-like wolves, with horns sticking out in pairs of three,on the the side of their head and on top of their head, and really sharp talons and teeth. They also have what seems like rock on their shoulders and legs. Four eyes and they typically have fur colors that match their surroundings.

"It's a Dragonian beast pack." I say almost terrified, even the most experienced Dragon Slayers, have died to attack of these things. Within a moment or two, they begin to appear all around us.

"Guys, we are surrounded." Jace says, looking at me for what to do next.

"Prepare to fight, guys." Alec says, both happy and terrified.

Within a few moments, they stopped appearing from out of the trees. I take a moment to count them, there's eighteen of them. We got lucky its a smaller group, but that doesn't mean that none of use won't die, if anything we'll walk away with our lives but alot of scratches.

"What do we do?" Jace asks me.

"We do what we do best..... Kill them." I reply, Alec looks at me with the most excited eyes. I turn to the nearest beast."Fireball!" Instantly throwing a ball of my crimson flames at the beasts head, as soon as it hits the beast, the beast flies backwards, and lands ceases all movement. When the rest sees this, they all begin to to pounce on us."Fireball!" I cast continually at any,and every beast that comes near me.

"Equip! Jagged Pole Arm!" Jace equips, and begins to kill the beasts, as they approach.

"Fireball!" Grey casts, releasing a fireball of his dark purple flames.

Alec jumps into the air."Thunder Dragon's Breath!" Releasing a huge bolt of lightning out of his mouth, instantly electrifying a group of beasts. Once their numbers drop to eight, the leader howls into the air. When they hear the howl they all turn around, and run off.

"Great job guys." I tell them."Although we did great, we need to keep going. This proves why I didn't want to stop for long, because its too dangerous." I add.

"Ok. Let's keep going." Alec says, we begin to run once more at full force.
