As I walk onto campus of Crestview High, I'm gupled up into a crowd of students. Pushing and clawing my way, I finally escape their pull. Taking a look at this school, it's nothing special at first glance. When you look closely you can see the intricate stone work in between the bricks and the splashes of color all around. From flowers and greenery to places were it looked as if someone had dropped a paint bucket, it was all bright and cheery.
All of the other schools I've been to have been only for military kids. All that means is that everything is gray and strict as hell. So basically the styreotipical military school except we don't live there.
But here, it seems alive, you can feel the breeze and hear chattering of students going on about how their weekend was.
Why am I standing here like a weirdo? Walk around somewhere! Wait, why am I talking to myself?
I get snapped out of my internal argument by a blonde girl, slightly taller than me, wearing a flowy American flag cami and jean shorts. "Are you new here?"
Well someone doesn't waste any time, "Yeah I'm Sasha."
"I'm Amber. Welcome to Crestview High! I'm guessing you're the girl that just moved into the big house on Chesterfeild right?"
"Umm yeah." Man this girl knows a lot.
"Can I see your schedule? Maybe we have some classes together. Ummm yeah, we have homeroom, social studies, gym, and lunch. Cool, half the day. You can meet my friends, I'm positive they're going to love you!"
Maby I'm judging too early. Amber seems really cool, I can see a beautiful friendship in our future.
Before I know it, I'm being dragged into the building and down a few different hallways. We finally slow down when we get to a room numbered 213. As we walk in the room a small girl walks up to us. "Hi, I'm Mrs. Valintine, you must be Sasha. Welcome to English!"
I swear everyone in this town is peppy. There is no way Mrs. Valintine is a teacher, she looks like she could be a student! "Now I know that I look young enough to be a student but I'm actually not." Can she read minds?
"Where can I sit?"
"You seem to know Amber already so you can sit next to her." I can hear a high pitched squeal coming from beside me.
And with that, I sat down and the class started. This doesn't seem like a normal English class. It's relaxed, laid back almost. Mrs. Valintine is cracking jokes almost as much as the rest of the students. If all of the classes were like this one, this year is going to be great!
