When the girls said that we where going to get ready together, I didn't know that that meant they where all going to help me get ready. Everwhere I look their's curling irons, flat irons, hairspray, makeup, it's complete madness. When they told me their plans to curl my hair, I couldn't help but laugh. My hair doesn't curl, it just doesn't. I've never had my hair to stay curled unless it was done professionally so I have absolutely no idea how this is going to come out.
Since I was late getting here, everyone else was already ready so they all could focus on me. All of the mirrors around me were suddenly gone and that made me nervous. "Why are all the mirrors gone?"
"We want it to be a suprise until you see the finished look." When Cat tells me she's giving me a suprise, I get scared. Really scared. "You're going to look amazing, don't worry."
The next 45 minutes is a blur to me. I don't know if it's from hairspray or heat, but it is. The entire time, I was scared out of my mind. Not just at the curling iron coming so close to my head or trying to keep from flinching while my makeup was being down, but something else. Chase.
I didn't think twice about him as my date but the reality of it just hit me now. The hottest guy in school was taking me to the formal. I've never really been on a 'real' date so this is completly new territory for me. What if I screw it up and embarrass myslef in front of everyone? Did he like me or was he just trying to me nice to the new girl? All of the questions in my head were zooming around at the same time. I don't know if it was that or the cloud of hairspray around my head but I was really starting to get light headed. I was so happy when the curling iron was no longer next to my head but I knew that they weren't done yet. I could feel some of the curls being pulled behind my head and clipped in place. "Ok, hair's done. Now onto makeup."
I was then stuck in the same chair for another 15 minutes to have my makeup done. "You have really clear skin so we're not going to put on foundation, but a little highlighter never killed anyone." After that, no one said a word to me. They discussed different products but nothing loud enough for me to hear. After eyeshadow, mascara, lip products that I can't name, and so much more, they were finally done. "You can look now."
I slowly stand up and walk across the room to the only mirror left. All of my anxiety about my appearance disapeared at the first glance. My normaly uncurlable hair was in perfect flowing curls. Some strands were gently pulled back and clipped behind my head with a sparkly hair clip.
Then there's the makeup. I don't even know how to describe it. My normally light pink lips are a soft bright pink that somehow fits in with everything. My favorite thing has to be the eyes though. My blue smoky eyes looks absolutely beautiful and my lashes look twice the size they normally are. "We were going to add blush but that might make your checks a little too--"
"Ladies! Shoes on, the guys are almost here!" I have absolutely no clue how we're getting there, but I guess I'm about to find out. Everyone slips on their heels, grabs their bags, and meets by the front door. Right as we all get there, a black stretch limo pulls up outside the house. "Is that for us?"
Seems like everyone had the same question but I was the only one who voiced it. Suddenly, the door opens and all of the guys get out. Collin, Eddie, Jack, someone who I assume is Cat's date and lastly, Chase. Before I had time to think anything, someone started talking. "We should be getting going, the chaperones throw a fit when you're late."
With that, all of the guys take their girls hand and lead them to the open door of the limo, including Chase.
Right before we get in, he stops short. Looking a little shy he spoke up, "I got you something." From behind his back he pulls out a corsage. The blues in it match my dress perfectly, everything is perfect. "Hurry up you two, we've got a formal to get to." I quickly hopped into the limo and once everyone was situated, we pulled out and made our way to the school.
