The Perfect Day Until...

The rest of the day went great! Art with Chase was interesting. We worked on our projects and talked the entire period. You could see the envy in my classmate's eyes as they looked at me and Chase. If looks could kill, I would have died at least 10 times from all the glares the girls gave me. I'm fine with it though, I don't mind the attention at all. Being the new girl isn't anything new and attention just comes with it.

My least favorite class for the longest time was lunch. Most people love it, but when you don't know anyone and have no one to sit with, it isn't enjoyable. I've gone from the girl that sits alone to the girl at the most popular table in the cafe. Amber, Noel, and Cat are all around me with two other girls. Rachel and Jess I'm pretty sure, along with Louis. All of them are pretty cool and I've never met a funnier group of people. Note to self: don't bring a lot of food, you laugh more than you eat.

Math is just math. Geometry, so much fun. None of the girls are in it and it's a pretty uneventful class. I only missed 2 weeks of the school year so I don't really have any work to make up, that's a first.

Now the bus ride, that was a story in of  itself. I have Amber and Noel but some of the people are just crazy. Two guys were jumping around on the seats, paper and who knows what eles was flying everywhere. This is worse than Mr. Z's lectures. "Does this happen a lot?"

"No, it's just the freshmen. They calm down in a couple of weeks. Some of the guys in our grade did that last year, it's a phase with guys I think."

"Ok good becuase I think I'd get my head taken off if this goes on for much longer."

"Haha. No, you're good. Oh, your stop's next. Noel lives a block over from you, she can show you how to get to your house."

I couldn't wait to get off that bus. It's not a long walk from the bus stop to my house but the scenic route takes a little more time. As Noel puts it, "Sometimes you just need to get away. To do that, you need to know where to go."

She couldn't have been more right. We went through the woods, passing the beautiful nature around every corner. From the colors of the flower beds to the rushing of leaves when the breeze blows through them. While that was beautiful, the most amazing thing was the waterfall. It's not a tropical one that you might think of. More like big rocks with a stream running down them.

The rocks are slightly worn and it's completely consealed in the woods. Theres a small pasture right next to it and if you lay back and close your eyes, you can here the water rushing by. This is one place I'm never going to forget.

After a couple of hours, we both knew that it was time to go home. It wasn't long before Noel and I were standing outside 36 Chesterfeild Ave. "Thanks Noel, for everything today."

"No problem. I'll meet you out here tomorrow morning, we can walk down to the bus stop together, the normal way."

"Sounds good to me. See you tomorrow"

"Later!" And with that, she took off down the steet, rounded the coner, and she was gone.

I walk into the house with a huge grin on my face. Throwing down my bag in the living room, I made my way to the kitchen for a quick snack before dinner. My face immediately dropped when I walked in to see my mom pacing around the room and dad sitting at the table white as a ghost.

I could feel my heavy jump into my throat when the words came out of my dad's mouth.

"Your mom and I are getting deployed."
