Letting out a long sigh, you washed the remnants of icing, dough, and flour off your hands in the sink. Once your hands were dry, you left the kitchen, taking off your apron and tossing it onto a hook next to the doorway. You then plopped yourself down in a chair next to a table and slumped against it, rubbing your shoulder, which was sore from some of the vicious mixing that you'd had to do.

"What a rush!" your friend and classmate, Alexia, commented as she took a seat across from you and put her head down on the table, her light blonde hair cascading onto the wood.

"I know..." you commented as you fixed your own (h/l) (h/c) hair, taking it out of its ponytail and smoothing it out, making sure there was nothing in it. "The midday crowd is always the hardest to handle, especially on a Friday."

You and Alexia had been best friends for a long time now ever since she moved into your town from her home in Germany. You had both shared a passion for baking since a young age that had stayed with you even up to now. Both of you were in college, studying to become professional bakers and pastry chefs. Since you were both in the same classes, had been friends for a long time, and both shared the same passion, the two of you decided to open up a small bakery where the two of you sold baked goods and treats as well as pastries.

After the bakery had gained notoriety, more and more people started visiting, giving you both enough money to keep up with the supplies you needed. A few of your other baker friends, as well as your grandmother also helped you out from time to time while you were at your classes.

"We did good, though. Hopefully it will be relatively quiet for the rest of the day. Maybe we'll even be able to close up early and go home. I'm absolutely exhausted!" Alexia mumbled, lifting her head up and resting it on her hand, her eyelids fluttering as she tried to stay awake.

"Yeah, me too," you agreed and yawned.

You were about to continue with your conversation when you heard a bell ringing, signaling that the door to your shop had been opened. Both of you turned to face the door only to see a few familiar faces wander inside the shop.

"Hey, (f/n)! Hey, Alexia! I brought a few hungry volleyball players along with me today," your childhood friend, Kuroo Tetsurou, called as he sauntered over to where you sat. Behind him stood a few of his teammates, who had wide eyes as they examined the glass cases that housed your delicious pastries.

His playful smile made your heart flutter in your chest and you cleared your throat quietly as you smiled in return. "Hey, Tetsurou! How was practice?" you asked as he extended his arm towards you, grabbing your hand and lifting you out of your chair.

As Kuroo began talking about practice, his gaze wandering around the shop, you gave Alexia a look, which she understood immediately. With that, she stood up quickly, straightening out her apron as she approached Kuroo's friends and led them over to the counter, chatting with the tall and slightly sweaty players.

She knew about your growing crush on Kuroo since you had a tendency to talk too much about it whenever you were back in the kitchen, making desserts. Kuroo, of course, seemed completely oblivious of the growing affection you felt towards him. He had such a flirtatious nature towards you and other girls that you didn't really know what to think.

"Hello? (F/n)?" Kuroo called to you, waving his hand in front of your face and snapping you out of your thoughts, "You were spacing out. Are you okay?"

You rubbed your eyes and giggled nervously. "It's been a long day."

He nodded in agreement, running a hand through his slightly sweaty bedhead. "I get it," he said. His brown eyes soon turned their attention away from your own (e/c) ones and over to the display cases of pastries. "So, what do you have in store for me today?" he asked as he walked over to the case, shoving his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants.
