Chapter 5: Jack

I followed Lulu carelessly, looking around the school with curiosity.  The school was sure big, big enough for you to get lost.  Lulu took me to many interesting places to see and told me things I have never known.  The most interesting place was the library because it had so many interesting books.  As we walked, I turned to Lulu who seemed to be happy touring me around. 

"By the way Lulu, did the Institute of War force you to leave too?"  I asked and Lulu just simply giggled. 

"Nope!  I actually sneaked my way out!"  exclaimed Lulu.  She was certainly loud and full of troubles.  She was worse than me. 

"I never knew you could use your magic to transform into a human,"  I said and Lulu looked at herself with pride.  To be honest, she looked really cute with the appearance and clothes.  She wore a white short sleeve top with a black skirt.  She had her long black hair tied into a ponytail while her purple eyes glowed beautifully. 

"I learned it from Ahri.  She was teaching me how to manipulate humans," replied Lulu and I raised a brow in suspicion.  Something seems off here. 

"Ahri?"  She nodded as we kept walking. "But if she taught you that, shouldn't she become completely human if she also used manipulation?" I asked and Lulu raised her hand to her chin and thought about it.

"You have a point.  I thought about that too, but the second I thought I was complete human, I wasn't," replied Lulu and I looked at her with a confusing look.  All of a sudden, pointed purple ears stuck out of her hair.  I looked at in surprise, mostly because it was rare to see Lulu's ears due to her hat being on her head most of the time.  Having ears on her head made her even cuter.  We walked across the hallway until I accidentally bump into someone and all of his books dropped.  Crap!  I crouch near the boy who seemed to be my age who had bright blonde hair.  

"I'm so sorry!  Let me get that for you," I said as I grabbed the book and handed to him.  He took it gently and picked the rest of the books up.

"Thanks," the boy replied as our eyes suddenly met.  Then we froze in shock, staring at each other in the eyes.  No, it can't be him.  Bright blue eyes, same cute handsome face.  "A-Annie?" 

"N-Nunu?"  What the hell was he doing here?  We both looked away from each other and stepped away.  I felt Lulu grabbing onto my arms in comfort as she whispered into my ear. 

"It's okay.  I got this,"  said Lulu as she stepped away to my side.  Nunu stood up with his books and a another boy with black hair walked beside him as he looked at me amusingly. 

"Hey Nunu, hey Luna,"  said the boy as he continue to stare at me, making me blush a little bit.  I guess Lulu's identity is kept a secret, since the boy just called her Luna.  I wondered how Lulu come up with that name.  "Who's this new girl?  She's cute."  I looked at him in surprise as my cheeks heated up so fast that I felt like it was going to burn into hot buns.  All of a sudden, Nunu put a hand on his arm with a fierce grip, as a flash of jealousy was shown on his face.  Where did this come from?  I haven't seen Nunu this angry before. 

"I swear, if you say that again to her, I'm going to freaking kill you!"  warned Nunu as he let go of the boy's hand and walked away.  Damn, what's going on with Nunu?  Was it me who cause him to act like that?  It seemed almost like he was trying to protect me, but why?  The boy rubbed the back of his head as he faced us. 

"What's up with him today?" asked the boy and I felt Lulu's eyes traveled toward me.  I shook my head, telling her that I didn't feel like talking about it.  I guess she was trying to ask if I wanted to talk about my past with Nunu.  Maybe it was a better idea to, since I was starting to trust Lulu a little bit but I had no idea who this boy was.  Him flirting at me is someone I don't want to trust.  It may seem like I'm not trusting anyone, but why wouldn't I?  I'm new at this school, and who knows someone's going to kidnap me.  The boy had warm brown eyes, and had less muscles than Nunu.  To be honest, both of them don't look too buff, but Nunu has more abs than this boy. 

"He's just in a bad mood today," lied Lulu and I sighed in relief.  I thought she was going to say something stupid.  Lulu can be wise with words, but can lead to stupid statements sometimes.  How do I know this?  She would never keep her mouth shut when I battled against her when we were still in the Institute of War.  She kept rambling about random things and it really annoyed me when I tried to burst her down with my spells..  The boy shot me a few amusing glances again. 

"Hey there cutie.  The name's Jack,"  He came towards me, causing me to look at him in surprise.  All of a sudden, Lulu punched him hard in the stomach, knocking him hard to the ground.  "Ow."  I gave Lulu a cold look. 

"Lulu! What was that for?" I asked as she does a death stare at Jack. 

"You don't you dare touch my best friend like that," warned Lulu and I gave her a surprised look.  She actually called me her best friend. 

"Best friend?" I whispered and Lulu turned to me with a friendly wink.  Lulu was also protecting me.  I looked away from her sadly.  Everyone has been saving me lately, and I haven't done anything to repay them. No wonder they call me the dark child.  I sighed sadly.

"I'm sorry Luna.  She's just too damn cute," flirted Jack and my cheeks boiled again as I looked away from Jack, trying to hide my blush.  "What's your name?" 

"A- I mean I'm- I'm Annie,"  I stuttered nervously like an idiot and Lulu looked at me with one brow up.  Jack chuckled as he suddenly stroked my head, causing me to blush again.  "Wh-"  Just then, another impact from Lulu's knee, connected to Jack's stomach as he went flying.  I widen my eyes at where Jack used to be standing.  That knee was did a huge impact.  I wonder where Lulu learned how to fight. 

"How many times do I have to tell you not to touch my best friend!  I don't care if you have a hearing problem," yelled Lulu as I laughed nervously as I watched them argue.
