Chapter 11: The Party

Annie

The three of us gathered around in the girl's dorm in silence as I felt Nunu's and Lulu's cold stares. I looked down in shame. Lulu placed her arms on her hips in anger which tells me that I made a huge mistake inviting Jack.

"Are you insane? Jack? Really? He's going to ruin our time together!" yelled Lulu while having her hands up in the air. Nunu shook his head disappointed as he sat next to me on my bed. We somehow stared at each other in silence, but I broke the stare down as I looked away with a shy blush. My cheeks boiled with extreme heat, knowing that I couldn't stand to stare his handsome good looking face with beautiful sea blue eyes.

"We all promise to hang out with each other at least once," Nunu said as Lulu sighed sadly and crouched down on her knees in front of me as she looked up at me worriedly. Then Nunu slipped his hand into mine gently, causing my cheeks to heat up even more as I looked at him in confusion.

"N-nunu? Wh- what are you doing?" I asked and Nunu just smiled warmly. Why is he getting all flirty on me right now? Does he like me or something?

"What? Can't two best friends hold hands together?" asked Nunu. Wow, I just made a wrong assumption and I blame the dirty side of me. I felt like blushing again until I felt someone's hand touch mine as soft as a feather. I turned and saw Lulu's hand placed on top of mine and a warm smile appeared on her bright face.

"Make that three. Three best friends, three awesome butt kickers," joked Lulu as we all laughed and giggled. Nunu's mod changed back into a sad feeling again as he gripped my hand tight in a nervous way.

"But Annie. Are you sure its a good idea to invite Jack to the party?" asked Nunu and I looked away from him with a deep thought. I have no idea what Nunu and Lulu have against Jack. He didn't do anything wrong to me or anyone yet. I looked at the both of them with suspicion.

"I mean, Jack isn't a bad guy or anything. He's not going to do anything illegal, right?"  I asked but Nunu and Lulu stayed silent as their eyes avoided mine.  Lulu stood up from her crouched position and walked towards the door without a word.  "Lulu?"  Lulu opened the door  as she tried to exit, but stop midway and turned to us with a sad look.

"I change my mind.  I don't want to go to that stupid party," said Lulu as she slammed the door closed loudly.  I could tell that she was pissed, but I wasn't sure why.  Why was she pissed about Jack coming? Nunu and I sat together quietly alone until his hand slipped away from mine and he stood up from the bed, leaving from my side.  For some reason, my body already missed the warmth of his gentle hands as it begged or more.  He began to exit but I quickly grabbed his wrist as he turned to me with a frustrated look.  I manage to stare back at him worriedly, wanting him to stay with me longer.

"You're leaving too?"  I asked and Nunu pulled his hand away from my wrist softly.

"I just remembered that I had a project  to do for one of my classes.  I should probably start before I forget,"  lied Nunu and with that, he exited the room with silence.  They- they left me.  Here I was, sitting in  an empty room on my bed, alone.  For the first time, I had never had this feeling of loneliness because I was always surrounded with my best friends.  For the very first time, my heart felt empty, but now broken.  Suddenly, I started crying.  I cried with real wet tears, with real human tears.  I felt so much pain without my friends that I started crying, and I had no one to comfort me.  I'm such a baby.  So I sat there crying until I heard my door creaked open, catching my attention as I stopped crying.  Just then, Jack appeared at the doorway, causing my sudden attention to a depressing sorrow again.
