~~~~~~~~~~We walked into the large ballroom. The walls were lined with gold and there were tables seating 10 at each table. From the tablecloths to the center pieces, they had all been handpicked and gone through by either Maggie or Aunt Julie. The room looked magnificent.
We continued walked into the room which had now been filled with people awaiting us, or just I guess Aunt Julie. The usher escorted us to our seats which was in front of the main stage where Aunt Julie would be speaking later on.
I took my seat where I saw my name tag, next to an empty spot and Maggie. I assumed the empty spot was for my supposed date whom Aunt Julie had forgotten to mention I should bring.
There was ice water with a slice of lemon inside it, so I took a sip of the water before remembering what Louis said to me: "Whatever you do, remember not to smudge the bright red lip I gave you. It looks totally Taylor Swift."
I reached for my white clutch which was on my lap and opened it, pulling out the Revlon lipstick Louis applied on me before. I slathered it on my lips, not knowing whether or not it looked okay.
Aunt Julie walked to the front of the stage where she gave her opening statements like thanking people for coming and introducing her new line for the year.
This year's collection's theme is Winter Wonderland. I thought it was a bit cliche to be honest, but with Aunt Julie you could never really truly tell. As soon as Aunt Julie left the stage, we were all given our starter salads and bread by waiters. I dug in immediately, having only eaten a bit of Monte's pasta, I was starved.
I finished my salad in about three minutes and instantly started on the bread. Later, we were given our main course: escargot and fish eggs. I was hungry, but not that hungry. I decided to just eat the rice that came as the side dish and leave the two expensive dishes off to the side. I noticed Aunt Julie along with the rest of the room basically dug in. Alison and I were completely uninterested.
After eating our main course, the lights in the room shut off and on came the speaker. A tall male walked out fr- wait. Is that Ryan Seacrest?
Oh my god. I'm this close to Ryan flipping Seacrest. This isn't happening.
Ryan introduced himself and pointed out he would be emcee tonight. He started by acknowledging a few people in the audience before stating that while we had our dessert, the fashion show featuring the new line would begin to walk down the runway.
The waiters came around the large dining hall with an assortment of treats from pastries to cheesecake to creme brûlée.
Maggie and I chose the cheesecake and Alsion along with my two cousins chose creme brûlée. Aunt Julie chose a few pastry cakes.
We all dug into the desserts as Ryan came back out onto the stage and began to introduce this year's line.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all stood up from our seats and filed out of the dining hall into the adjoining ballroom. It was massive.
Like the princess scenes in the movies? The chandeliers? The grand tiling on the floor? THE WHOLE SHABANG. Right in front of me.
