I trotted down the stairs and into the kitchen where Monte was blasting classical music and flipping stacks of pancakes and eggs.

"Mornin' Mont." I said, skipping in.

"Morning." he said, with a smile.

"What's on the menu this morning?" I ask.

"Anything you would like, Ms. Conroy." he simply says.

"How about some eggs and yogurt?" I ask.

"Coming right up!" he chirps.

I thanked him and made my way back upstairs to get ready for school.

I ran up the stairs and into my room. I hopped into the shower and rinsed by body. After showering, I got dressed in a pair of light wash jeans and a cream oversized sweater. On top of that, I wore my army green jacket and brown combat boots. I left my hair natural today, wavy down my shoulders. For makeup, I left it pretty natural, just a bit of eyeliner and mascara along with some lip balm. I grabbed my brown backpack that laid by the door and stuffed my phone and wallet inside.

I checked the time on my wall clock and it read 7:25, which meant I was incredibly early.

I skipped down the stairs and into the kitchen once again. There waiting for me was a plate of eggs and a to-go yogurt along with a glass of orange juice.

I sat down at the island and began chowing down on my eggs. After cleaning off my plate, I grabbed my yogurt and peeled off the wrapper before Aunt Julie came bustling into the kitchen, Maggie following behind.

"Morning, sweetie." she said.

"Morning, Aunt Julie." I said.

"I'm sorry, today Jason is out sick and I have a video call with some people in Japan about the new line. I don't know how you'll get to school. I would let you drive, but the key that opens the box of car keys to the cars in the garage is locked and only Jason has the key. I don't know how you'll manage getting to school." she said, a concerned look on her face.  "Connor is out of town with Alison for their anniversary as you already know and Christopher is sick; he has an appointment with the doctor here at the house in about ten minutes." she continues to ramble.

"That's fine, really." I said. "I can just walk to school."

"No, I can't let you do that." she said.

"No, it's fine, Aunt Julie. Today classes start at 8:15 and right now is only 7:35." I said, glancing at the clock on the wall in front of me. "It's more than enough time for me to walk."

"But, it's a whole half hour walk, Del." she countered.

"Honestly, I'll be fine. If I leave now, I may even get there early enough. Not to mention I need the exercise." I asked, chuckling.

"I guess if you really wanted to, Del. But call me if anything happens. You break a nail, trip, dirty a shoe. I'm on speed dial, okay?" she said, cocking her eyebrows.

"Got it, Aunt Julie." I said, before emptying the last of my yogurt into my stomach and placing the dishes in the sink.

I said bye to Aunt Julie and Maggie after giving them both hugs. Grabbing my things, I walked towards the front door and down the large driveway towards the street.
